We are seeking a talented and experienced DevOps Engineer to join our IT Operations team and help drive the seamless integration of development and operations processes. As a DevOps Engineer at Afriland First Bank, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the tools and systems that empower our development and operations teams. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to enhance the efficiency and reliability of our software delivery pipeline. Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with software engineers to deploy and operate our applications and systems.
- Automating and streamlining build, deployment, and scaling processes.
- Developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.
- Identifying and implementing improvements to system infrastructure and architecture.
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues in our development, test, and production environments.
- Implementing security best practices to safeguard our applications and infrastructure.
- Ensuring the production system high availabity.
- Monitoring system performance and ensuring high availability of applications.
- Participating in on-call rotation for timely incident response and resolution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Proficiency in configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Strong scripting skills in languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Travis CI).
- Strong understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, ELK stack).
- Solid understanding of networking, security, and infrastructure best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a cross-functional environment.
Preferred:
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or similar.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and its implementation challenges.
- Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
- Banking experience is a plus.
