 Context
The European Institute for Cooperation and Development (IECD), an international solidarity organization
, has been working since 1988 to promote social and economic development in fifteen
developing and emerging countries. Nearly thirty years of experience have enabled the IECD to develop
real expertise in technical and vocational training, in supporting very small

businesses and in access to education and health for the most vulnerable people.
Present in Cameroon for 30 years, the IECD carries out several of its flagship programs there:
• Vocational training by supporting a network of 15
vocational training centers and institutes in training young people in rural areas in agricultural professions
to facilitate their professional integration.
• Rural development by The structuring of the market gardening sector (APONH): in partnership
with a large French group in the sector, structuring of the sector by simultaneously relying on

on commercial, technical and social activities. Thus, 40 producers see their
living conditions improved by working for 200 B2C clients and 15 B2B clients thanks to
the commercial intermediation of SOFRULECAM, which is an entity created by the IECD for this
purpose.
• Entrepreneurship:
– The small and medium-sized enterprise incubator project in the agri-food sector
(TRANSFORM): which allows entrepreneurs to create and develop their start-ups
in the agri-food sector by providing a technology hall.
– The Very Small Enterprises support program: training and support for
micro and small urban entrepreneurs from all sectors of activity, by strengthening their
management skills, so that they consolidate or develop their professional activity.
The IECD is considering
developing 3 new programs from the 4th quarter of 2022:
• The Graine d’Espérance program (GDE): a program that consists of improving training

offered by training centers so that they correspond to the needs of the
labor market. This involves 5 pillars: improving training standards, renovating
equipment, training teachers, setting up orientation and
employment activities, and improving school management.
• The hotel and catering program (HR): supporting the partner Sorawel in the
development of its vocational training center in hotel and catering
• The health program
In the field of agricultural development, the IECD implements training and
support activities for small producers in the West Cameroon region (around the city of

Dschang) and in the Littoral region (around the city of Njombé) since 2014. These training courses aim
to support producers in producing better quality fruits and vegetables as well as
products with higher added value. In order to help the most motivated producers find a
more profitable distribution channel, the IECD created a social enterprise in 2017, SOFRULECAM
(Société des Fruits et Légumes du Cameroun). The company pre-finances, purchases and markets fruits
and vegetables from around a hundred producers to a network of individuals, restaurants and
supermarkets.

 Mission
The job holder will be mobilized on the following missions, to be carried out under the direct responsibility
of the Experimental Station and Nursery Manager social enterprise. Close communication
is expected between the job holder and his/her direct hierarchical manager.
A. Carrying out the activities of the experimental plot

✓ Ensure that the perimeter of the experimental plot is kept clean
✓ Define and implement the various crop maintenance operations
✓ Ensure the implementation of the fertilization plan for crop trials
✓ Set up and monitor nurseries
✓ Ensure the multiplication of plant material and the creation of a seed stock
✓ Ensure stock management (inputs, seeds, etc.) and maintenance of
agricultural tools
✓ Participate in testing new innovative practices (cultivation methods and
new varieties)
✓ Collect data on the trials and suggest avenues for improvement
✓ Ensure optimal monitoring of crops (watering, clearing, plowing, hoeing,
earthing up, sowing, pruning, transplanting, staking, phytosanitary treatments, irrigation,
harvesting, etc.) on the plot according to an established weekly schedule.
✓ Ensure regular reporting of activities and rapid feedback of
information.
✓ Participate in monitoring the stock of production equipment (plates,
maintenance tools, etc.).
B. Nursery management
✓ Preparation of seedling soil
✓ Carrying out sowing
✓ Maintaining seedlings until the plates are recovered
C. Compost management
✓ Handling/preparation of compost constituent materials
✓ Production and storage of finished compost
He will follow the instructions and work schedule given by his direct manager. If
necessary, other specific and complementary tasks may be assigned to him in relation to his
skills.

 Desired profile
Desired skills: BAC +2 in agronomy (more particularly in
fruit arboriculture) and 02 years of practical experience in the creation/maintenance/management of agricultural operations.

Remuneration: 85,000 XAF net monthly
