Buea, Cameroon – His Grace Archbishop José Avelino Bettencourt, the Apostolic Nuncio to Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea, has arrived in Buea ahead of the much-anticipated Diamond Jubilee celebration of the Catholic Women’s Association (CWA). The event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, July 24th, 2024, at the Divine Mercy Co-Cathedral.
Archbishop Bettencourt’s arrival was met with great excitement as he was warmly received by the Local Ordinary of the Diocese of Buea, His Lordship Michael Bibi. Also present to welcome him were the CWA National Chaplain, Fr. Augustine Nkwain, and the National President of CWA, Mrs. Chiatoh Judith. A host of CWA members from within the national territory joined in the reception, creating an atmosphere of joy and anticipation.
The Diamond Jubilee marks a significant milestone for the CWA, which has been a pillar of faith, service, and community engagement for six decades. The celebration promises to be a memorable occasion, bringing together members, clergy, and dignitaries to honor the organization’s rich history and contributions.
As preparations continue, the faithful eagerly await the grand celebration, which will undoubtedly be a testament to the enduring spirit of the CWA and its commitment to empowering women and fostering spiritual growth.
