As part of the implementation of its activities in Cameroon, the international humanitarian NGO INSO is looking for DAILY DRIVERS.

Presentation of the NGO:

INSO is an NGO that supports humanitarian access for NGOs by providing reliable and objective analysis, in real time, on local conditions relevant to humanitarian access. INSO makes it possible to improve information sharing and coordination between NGOs for the collective interest while preserving the neutrality of humanitarian aid. INSO works particularly on issues of humanitarian access and good information monitoring practices. INSO provides alerts and recommendations, analyses, precise contextual, statistical and cartographic data. INSO also organizes coordination meetings and training.

 

Job Summary

As part of INSO Cameroon, the Daily Driver is asked to replace an absent regular driver, to deal with an increase in activity or an unforeseen event.

Main responsibilities:

Under the responsibility of the Logistician Assistant, the post holder is mainly responsible for:

  • Drive staff while respecting the highway code, traffic laws and regulations of Cameroon;
  • Ensure safe driving practices are followed, including local codes of conduct and internally agreed standards;
  • Carry out shopping for the different departments of INSO Cameroun
  • Ship packages and miscellaneous mail;
  • Record trips, daily mileage, fuel consumption, oil changes, etc.;
  • Ensure that the vehicle is secure at all times;
  • Ensure that the vehicle is subject to regular/daily maintenance checks: check oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc.;
  • Ensure that vehicle repairs are carried out correctly according to the manufacturers’ official specifications;
  • Provide the necessary support to visitors upon arrival and departure at airports
  • Ensure administrative monitoring of the vehicle;
  • Participate in inventories and reception of materials;
  • Participate in unloading and loading your vehicle;
  • Provide logistical support to the various departments of INSO Cameroon;
  • Perform other tasks recommended by the line supervisor.

Required profile :

  • Hold at least the BEPC or CAP Study Certificate
  • Hold a category B or C driving license
  • Master defensive driving of category B vehicles
  • Have at least five years of professional experience
  • Having experience with an NGO, a private company or International Organizations is an asset.
