International Medical Corps has been present in Cameroon since 2008 to provide assistance to the thousands of Central African refugees who have crossed the border and taken refuge in Cameroon following the political and social unrest that has taken place in CAR since 2005. International Medical Corps provides care essential health and nutrition services to more than 75,000 Nigerian refugees in Minawao refugee camp in the Far North Missions and Responsibilities region, according to the latest data from UNHCR and its partners.

Missions and Responsibilities

Primary objective

Working closely with the project team, the Warehouse Assistant under the direct supervision of the Logistics Officer is responsible for managing all items in the warehouse, checking compliance of warehouse documentation, receives all goods in quality and quantity that need to be stored. In agreement with his supervisor, monitor the goods leaving the warehouse

 

 

 

1. Specific tasks:

Daily

• Ensure the movement of stored objects

• Make sure the physical quantity of certain items is in accordance with the stock card

• Ensure there is a correct receipt note for each item to be stored

• Ensure there is a proper issue order with all signatures prior to release from warehouse.

• Collect remarks, diagnose problems and propose solutions to his supervisor.

• If necessary, notify his supervisor of:

– Critical level of items

– The non-compliance of certain warehouse documents

– Other issues related to warehouse and stored items.

 

 

 

Reports

has. Weekly. Provide weekly reports on warehouse operations (fuel and warehouse) to their direct supervisor by the end of each Thursday, after obtaining updates from the warehouse. This report is only for moved items

b. Monthly. Provide a monthly inventory which will be attached for the monthly report. This inventory is for fuel, program entrance, stationery and all stored items.

Coordination with other departments

vs. Maintain a close relationship with field sites and program departments to ensure smooth operations on issues.

d. Foster a close working relationship with the Finance Department.

Documentation.

has. Ensure that all warehouse operations are fully documented (fuel, warehouse, schedule entry…).

b. Perform any duties and tasks requested by his/her direct supervisor related to the job description above.

2. Education/Training, experience and skills

Education/Training : /

Experience :

• Knowledge of generic purchasing procedures and practices (experience with IMC or any other NGO is a plus);

• Knowledge of legislation / main regulations;

• 02 years of experience in logistics;

• Holder of a valid driver’s license

• Communication skills – should be able to speak French and knowledge of English will be an asset;

• Computer skills..

3. Others:

  • Security :

– Ensure compliance with security protocols and policies;

– Consider the security implications of all program activities, reviewing all new initiatives with other staff, community leaders and volunteers.

– Promote and encourage a culture of compliance and ethics within International Medical Corps. To the extent applicable to the position, the candidate should fully understand and adhere to International Medical Corps and donor compliance and ethics standards.

– Performs work with the highest level of integrity.

– Communicate these standards to staff, where appropriate, and partners and require them to adhere to these values.
