AUTOMOBILE DRIVER (M/F) – YOKO (CENTRAL REGION) – GIZ CAMEROON

DESCRIPTION OF THE OFFER

CALL FOR INTERNAL APPLICATIONS FOR THE RECRUITMENT OF A (01) AUTOMOBILE DRIVER FOR THE PROJECT PROMOTING A RESPONSIBLE LAND POLICY OF THE DEUTSCHE GESELLSCHAFT FÜR INTERNATIONALE ZUSAMMENARBEIT (GIZ/ProPFR) IN YOKO (CENTRAL REGION).

 

 

Context

The GIZ Promotion of Responsible Land Policy Project (GIZ-ProPFR) is a partnership between GIZ and the Ministry of Lands, Cadastre and Land Affairs to support the implementation of a responsible land policy in Cameroon. Its area of ​​intervention covers the central region, with a focus in the buffer zone of the communal forest of Yoko and Nanga-Eboko.

Its main objective is to improve access to land for certain population groups, in particular women and marginalized groups, in the Center Region, as an essential prerequisite for the restoration and preservation forest landscapes and the fight against poverty and hunger in rural areas.

It comprises 3 areas of intervention: 1) Improvement of institutional conditions, including procedures for safeguarding the rights of use of forest, agricultural and grazing resources of the rural population, in the central region 2; Participation of civil society in the formulation and implementation of a responsible land policy; 3) Improvement of framework conditions for investments in the agro-forestry sector

 

 

To this end, as part of its activities, the Project Promotion of a Responsible Land Policy ProPFR) is currently looking for a car driver to support the implementation of its activities in the city of Yoko (Central Region) .

 

A- Areas of responsibility and powers

  • Ensure in a responsible manner all business trips with company vehicles;
  • Perform regular maintenance of service vehicles;
  • Take into account all the information available concerning the state of the roads, the routes and the practicable localities;
  • Running errands for the Project;
  • Support logistics and manage other Project tasks
  • Ensure the transport of people and goods for the project;
  • Ensure regular cleaning inside and outside the vehicle for which he is responsible;
  • Immediately declare any involvement in an accident, even minimal, as well as any damage, deterioration, loss or theft of vehicle accessories;
  • Ensure that the information allows regular maintenance of the vehicle (oil change after 5000 km);
  • Regularly check that the vehicle documents are up to date;
  • Check the technical condition of the vehicles before the missions;
  • Ensure vehicles have fuel and submit fuel requests as needed;
  • Ensure that the car logbook is correctly kept (trips duly completed, registration of refueling;
  • Ensure compliance with instructions on board the vehicle and during travel
  • Assist in the preparation, transport, assembly and disassembly of materials and equipment for the various workshops or meetings of the program.
  • Make small purchases from the postage checkout.

 

 

PROFILE REQUIRED

B- Qualifications, skills and experience required

Qualifications

  • At least a first cycle study certificate (BEPC) or other equivalent diploma;
  • Have a class B, C, D driving license

 

Professional experience

  • At least 3 years of experience as a driver;
  • Not having had a major accident in the last 3 years;
  • Have proven experience in field missions in rural areas and with driving 4×4 vehicles;
  • Work experience in an international organization would be an asset;
  • Previous experience with GIZ would be an asset.

 

Other knowledge/skills

  • Good oral and written expression in French and/or English;
  • Be familiar with basic computer tools (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.);
  • Organizational capacity;
  • Be rigorous and structured;
  • Ability to work under pressure and resistance to stress;
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team in a multicultural environment;
  • Have complete discretion and respect the confidentiality of all information collected in the context of the exercise of the function;
  • Be flexible for frequent travel.

 

Contract start date: 01.09.2023

Contract period: Fixed-term contract (CDD) two (02) renewable

Duty station: Yaoundé

Internal classification of the position: Band 1 under the hierarchical supervision of the Principal Technical Advisor (CTP) of the ProPFR Project

Deadline for admissibility of application files: June 30, 2023
