- Job Title : Field Security Officer

Support risk management, in the Far North zone of Cameroon. Ensure an adequate level of situational awareness to support and conduct a risk analysis of the local security situation. Analyse key security threats on the ground and provide advice. Ensure that safety and security equipment is available and provide support for the establishment of risk treatment measures and monitoring of access issues. Support to ensure that safety and security management structures and systems are in place and adhered to.
Missions and Responsibilities

- In close collaboration with the Manager, carry out security risk assessments in new areas/routes and advise on security measures to be implemented.
- Establish and maintain an active information network with other NGOs, the United Nations, formal and informal community leaders and national and international security actors operating in the region to obtain credible and relevant security information.
- Coordinate and liaise with police, security forces and relevant authorities to effectively communicate INTERSOS operations and modus operandi to establish reliable acceptance levels and improve accessibility to areas of operations.
- Assist the Manager in establishing security plans and procedures in the areas of operations, providing input on existing documents, updating information on tools and identifying procedures to be revised and proposing new ones. Support field teams and the Security Manager in decision making and coordination with other third parties as necessary.
- Support the sharing of information on the security tools in place and the various measures in coordination with the field teams. In coordination with the HR department and the Security Manager, organize induction sessions for field staff whenever necessary.
- Provide safety, security and risk management training as needed. If not possible in person, identify possible vendors or remote online solution.
- Report to the line manager on the status of ongoing procedures and alert in the event of a change in legislation in government procedures if this has an impact on the safety and security of operations.
- Identify applied safety and security needs and coordinate with their facility logistics.

- Check daily the safety and security road conditions and inform the field staff. If necessary, the Safety Manager, too.
- Track staff movements
- Collect data on security incidents on a regular basis. Provide assistance in managing and monitoring incidents affecting INTERSOS project staff and offices, sharing reliable reports with the line manager
- Provide basic training to drivers, guards and staff on topics identified by the line manager (alert system, monitoring, access control, etc.)
- Ensure the proper implementation of equipment and security measures in place in vehicles and premises. Contribute to the proper implementation and monitoring of secure rooms
- Represent INTERSOS at security meetings or forums, as well as in meetings with communities and governmental and non-governmental stakeholders and administrative and security services, in order to obtain relevant documents and information, negotiate access to the field and prepare regular reports.
- Perform other security related tasks as assigned by the Security Officer
Job Requirements
Education : Secondary education essential

- 2 years of work experience in the security field or relevant work experience in the field of safety, security and risk analysis.
- Experience in humanitarian operations and humanitarian access in complex emergency situations, preferably in the Far North of Cameroon.
- Good understanding of humanitarian practices and principles and their application
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with remote technical supervision
- Ability to work in remote field locations
