COUNTRY PROGRAM BACKGROUND:
International Medical Corps is a global, humanitarian, nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives and relieving suffering through health care training and relief and development programs. Established in 1984 by volunteer doctors and nurses, International Medical Corps is a private, voluntary, nonpolitical, nonsectarian organization. Its mission is to improve the quality of life through health interventions and related activities that build local capacity in underserved communities worldwide. By offering training and health care to local populations and medical assistance to people at highest risk, and with the flexibility to respond rapidly to emergency situations, International Medical Corps rehabilitates devastated health care systems and helps bring them back to self-reliance.
International Medical Corps has been present in Cameroon since 2008 to provide assistance to thousands of CAR refugees who have crossed the bordered sheltered in Cameroon as a consequence of the political and social troubles which occurred in CAR since 2005. International Medical Corps is providing essential health and nutrition care to 64 533 Nigerian Refugees in the Minawao refugee Camp in the Far North Region according to last data from HCR and its partners.

- General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Program Management Support
- Assist the Grants and Program Manager in the proposal development process for existing and potential donors.
- Assist different technical coordinators and support services to develop programs and determine operational needs.
- Provide support to program teams to track implementation of projects activities against expenditure and activities implementation
- Analyse PMT from different projects and share feedback with Managers.
- Lead at least one small grant proposal development process
- Help organize internal meetings
- Document project related lessons learned and success stories in coordination with the field teams
- Review PRs, ToRs and other relevant documents as appropriate before submitting to PC, MD, FAD and CD for approval
- Assist finance and logistics teams to ensure budget monitoring and procurement for projects.
- Work to strengthen internal data collection system and learning documentation for the IMC Cameroon mission.
- Provide support to the field operations as requested, including field visits to actively support the programs (security dependent).
- Represent IMC at different meetings and as per Program Department needs.
- Perform other tasks related to this post and as requested by the Grants and Program Manager.
- Reporting and Communication
- Ensure sound and timely follow up on project implementation and reporting
- Review periodic and final reports for different active projects and share final documents with HQ desk officer
- Ensure sound management of reporting requirements, including timely and quality submission to donors
- Review technical reports and program activity reports.
- Write quarterly and annual reports, with input from other colleagues.
- Share VOS of reports on monthly basis with HQ PO
- Manage the program department’s filing systems which should include grant documents, signed agreements, proposal, reports and important donor communications.
- QUALIFICATIONS:
- University degree and 3-5 years of relevant work experience or Master’s degree (e.g. Public Health, Social Work, International Relations, Business Administration, International Development, etc.) plus 1-2 years of relevant experience required;
- Fluency in spoken and written English is a mandatory requirement
- Familiarity with humanitarian operations, coordination structures, and the mandates of donors, UN agencies and other NGOs
- Cross-cultural awareness and insight into health care issues
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written;
- Excellent self-motivation skills;
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently;
- Excellent ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced and constantly changing environment;
- Be flexible, possess the ability to cope in stressful situations;
- Be creative and possess the ability to work with limited resources;
- Strong analytical and research skills;
- Strong computer skills, especially with MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
