The General Management of the MEC SA recruits for the need of its services a CHIEF ACCOUNTANT for a permanent contract.

PRESENTATION OF THE COMPANY  

The Mutual Savings and Credit of Cameroon abbreviated LA MEC SA is a microfinance institution of 2nd category, with variable capital of FCFA 500 000 000 with 08 agencies spread over the national territory.

MAIN MISSION OF THE POSITION

Under the supervision of the Director General, the Chief Accountant controls all accounting operations of MEC. Its main responsibilities are the establishment of books and legal documents: bookkeeping, preparation of the operating account or income statement, drafting of documents for the tax or social administration.

DESCRIPTION The Chief Accountant will be responsible for:

• Entering vendor invoices
• Wage garnishments
• Seizures of banking transactions
• Seizure of taxes
• Records cash transactions
• Follow-up of cash inventory operations
• Tracking fixed asset inventory operations
• Tracking inventory operations
• Analysis of accounts
• Control of bank reconciliation statements prepared by the accounting assistant
• Preparation of monthly tax returns
• Preparation of monthly NSIF declarations
• Preparation of quarterly sesame statements
• Monitoring the provisioning of customer credit accounts
• Preparation of the statistical and tax declaration (DSF)
• Preparation of the financial statements of the MNB
• Filing and archiving of accounting documents
• Supervision of the regulator’s missions (MINFI, COBAC)
• Supervision of statutory audit missions

It may carry out other ad hoc tasks, in accordance with the work plan of the MEC Directorate-General.

PROFILE

• Knowledge of the assembly of Sesame or Spectra declarations of EMFs is a major asset
• Diploma: Minimum Bac + 3 in Accounting or Management Sciences
• Professional experience: Have at least 7 years of experience in a similar position, particularly 3 years spent as Chief Accountant of a micro-finance company, would be an asset
• General and cost accounting
• Vigilance and compliance with the regulations in force (PCEMF and COBAC regulations on microfinance institutions) and OHADA plan
• Dynamism and responsiveness
• Mastery of computer and office automation techniques
• Rigor, method, innovation capabilities (introduce new forecasting management tools)
• Communication skills (lead a team, advise …)
• Respect for the confidentiality of the information processed
• Timeliness (closure of accounts)
• Have a mastery of computer and office tools (Excel-Word and other software Knowledge of the private
• Mastery of office automation tools Mastery of ICT (Telephony, Internet, …)
• Good knowledge of the CFSP
• Perfect command of French, English Very good oral expression Good physical presentation
• Ability to anticipate the needs or requests of users (proactivity) Banking – Eloge Bank).
• Ability to plan, manage and supervise operations
• Have a sense of team spirit, discretion, autonomy…
