Position Summary

The Community Development Intern (CDI) will support the Campo Team and particularly Project Officer in ensuring successful implementing of activities of Community Development projects in the Campo-Ma’an Technical Unit, in Cameroon. The CDI will assist for different AWF projects in the planning, realization and the monitoring of activities especially on nurseries and agroforestry plantations development and management. He/she will also give a support to communities for the valorization of Non-Timber Forest Products (organization of trainings, awareness-raising, market research and regular monitoring of activities) .

 

 

 

 

 

Location:  Campo-Ma’an National Park

Number of positions:  1 position

Duration:  1 Year

 

Responsibilities

Support         with the planning, realization and reporting of community’s development activities (awareness raising, trainings, group structuring, etc.).

• Support with nursery development, management and monitoring.

Support         with agroforests plantations development, management and monitoring.

Assist         in the development of training modules and capacity building facilitation sessions.

Provide         support for the structuring of producer groups (NTFP collectors and owners of agroforestry plantations) and income-generating activities development

 

 

• Provide support in the logistical preparation and organization of workshops, trainings and sensitization sessions, exchange visits, etc.
• Participate in site coordination meetings and the capitalization of experience;

• Assist in the production and dissemination of communications material to partners;
• Perform other additional activities Task as requested by the Technical Advisor.

 

 

 

Qualifications

A Bachelor         in Agriculture, Crop production, Forestry, Anthropology, social science field related to conservation and development (Development, Project Management, Environmental or Natural Resource Management).

• At least 1 years’ experience in conservation and development programs, including significant time in community animation or related;
• Demonstrated ability to transfer knowledge to diverse audiences through training and other formal and non-formal methods;

Experience         in organizing and collecting socio-economic data and working with communities

Ability         to work effectively in remote and challenging areas, in cross-cultural situations and multicultural environment.

• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment;

Willingness         and ability to travel to remote and sometimes physically challenging locations

• Self-organized and having own initiatives.
• French and English speaking.

Good         writing, synthesis and organizational skills

Computer         skills (MS Office)
