JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
The Christian Health Association of Cameroon (CHAC) hereby announces a job vacancy for Data Collector for
Formative Research on Routine Immunization SBC Programming in Cameroon.
Position: Data Collector
Location: Nkolndongo, Yaounde, Cameroon
Duration: 22 days in total: 3 days for training, 14 days data collection, 5 days for data transcription and reporting.

Overview:
We need the services of experienced and skilled qualitative individuals to serve as data collectors with our team on a
formative research project on routine immunization Social and Behavior Change (SBC) programming in Cameroon. The project aims to gather in-depth qualitative data to inform effective immunization strategies in Cameroon.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support participant recruitment ensuring inclusion criteria is met
2. Ensure informed consent or assent is properly signed before initiating interviews
3. Conduct primary data collection using in-depth interview guides
4. Workin pairs: one interviewer conducts the interview while the other records and helps with probing
5. Record responses accurately and observations via tape recorder and notes
6. Transcribe collected data into French or English
7. Ensure accurate and timely data transcription and management
8. Collaborate with the research team to code data, categorize information into themes and patterns
9. Maintain ethical standards in all research activities, ensuring respect, safety, and confidentiality of participants
10. Adhere to Christian Health Associations of Cameroon (CHAC)’s instructions as given at the start of the project
11. Support the preparation of detailed field reports and contribute to the final research report 12. Perform other duties as assigned within the duration of the contract.
Qualifications:
1. A copy of CV
2. Proof of experience in research
3. Contact of references
4. … Minimum of Bachelors degree in social sciences or Humanities with a background in one of the following topics: Sociology, anthropology, psychology, public health , or any other related field
5. Cultural sensitivity and knowledge of local customs
6. Ability to work in and with a diverse team
7. Experience in qualitative primary data collection methods
8. Able to work, travel, and undertake primary data collection in the project target locations in Yaounde, Cameroon
9. Good writing skills for transcription and reporting
10. Fluent in written and spoken French or English. Knowledge of local languages such as Owondu, Pidgin, Fulfulde,
or other relevant Cameroonian languages will be of additional advantage.
11. Willingness to work with a translator if not bilingual
