ABOUT THE STRUCTURE:
The Association for Translation, Literacy and Holistic Development of Human Beings (ASTRADHE) is a non-profit civil society organization based in the Lomié district, Haut-Nyong department, East region of Cameroon. Our vision is the integral development of Man; our mission, the improvement of the living conditions of vulnerable communities through education and sustainable development for future generations.
As part of the implementation of the activities of the “scaling up” project, ASTRADHE is looking for a development specialist and is seeking funds.
MISSIONS:
Within our organization and under the responsibility of the President, the specialist in development and fundraising is in charge of developing ASTRADHE’s project portfolio. He/she searches for potential donors and is responsible for developing the annual financing plan by developing new projects.
Your main activities will be as follows:
– Monitoring of opportunities and implementation of the financial development plan
Ø Ensures active monitoring of institutional donors, understanding their strategies, perspectives and interests,
Ø Identify opportunities (call for proposals and directly with targets) and support the development of an annual financing development plan,
Ø Develop ASTRADHE’s attractiveness to donors and monitor calls for tenders in line with ASTRADHE’s strategy,
Ø Ensure a representation role with donors: approach donors and present ASTRADHE.
– Preparation of new project proposals
Ø Coordinate the organization of the development of new projects/programs within the framework set by the donor, ensuring proper coordination of resources,
Ø Ensure that the recommendations of audits, monitoring-evaluation and capitalization are taken into account in the development of new projects,
Ø Support the compilation of administrative documents according to donor requirements,
Ø Monitor files submitted to donors until the final decision to grant and analyze donors’ feedback and recommendations,
Ø Produce analysis notes on donor issues and the consequences for ASTRADHE.
– Ensure the transfer of new funded projects to the ASTRADHE office
Ø Ensure, with the support of the President, the start of the project and its management in coordination with the relevant teams in the field office,
Ø Archive key assembly documents, submission and evaluation of returns, recommendations to capitalize on,
Ø Develop formats as needed for monitoring, project assembly and start-up.
– Facilitate collaboration with MINEDUB for support to CPCs
Ø Carry out regular follow-up with MINEDUB at the district, departmental, regional, and national levels to stay up to date on recognition by MINEDUB, eligibility for subsidies, and the actual granting of CPC subsidies,
Ø Communicate the requirements for compliance with MINEDUB regulations to the ASTRADHE technical team,
Ø Liaise between MINEDUB stakeholders at all levels, the ASTRADHE team, and the COGES of the CPCs to facilitate the communication of documentary requirements and needs and information concerning the status of subsidies,
Ø Maintain collegial and positive relationships with MINEDUB stakeholders at all levels, the ASTRADHE team, and the COGES of the CPCs.
PROFILES AND TRAINING
- You have at least 2 years of experience in managing international solidarity programs, including at least 1 year in development and fundraising in the field and at the headquarters of an NGO or association,
- EITHER you have a Master’s degree in solidarity, international cooperation, international relations, or resource mobilization, fundraising, social sciences and international project management, OR you have a Bachelor’s degree in one of the fields listed above with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
- You have experience in collaborating and liaising with government officials at various levels.
- You are fluent in English and French,
- You are recognized for your organizational skills and your autonomy,
- You know how to take initiatives,
- You have very good writing skills for quality proposals (narrative and budgetary) in French and English,
- You have very strong organizational skills in an intercultural environment and good interpersonal skills to bring people together around a project,
- You have very good capacity for working in a multidisciplinary team,
