Driver Mechanic/Administration Support

Overview
Under the supervision of the Procurement Officer of the Jhpiego office in Cameroon, the Driver Mechanic/Administration Support will have the main mission of driving and maintaining the assigned vehicle, keeping vehicle records in accordance with Jhpiego procedures, guidelines and policies. Also, he may be called upon to participate in the active life of the activities according to the needs of the Office
Responsibilities
Drive the project staff and partners in compliance with the laws of Cameroon and Jhpiego’s vehicle use policy;
Follow specific instructions, procedures and standards for efficient and damage-free use of the vehicle, as well as for the well-being and safety of passengers;
Ensure daily maintenance of the vehicle (washing, cleaning and checking levels: fuel, oil, water and tire pressure and bring to appropriate levels);
Ensure the delivery or collection of mail, documents, files or specific goods;
Keep the vehicle logbook and the status of expenses incurred up to date;
Report any equipment malfunction and ensure its repair at a garage authorized by the office;
Report maintenance to be done on time according to the indicated mileage;
Carry out any other tasks assigned to him/her.
Required Qualifications
Have a basic diploma/certificate.
Be in possession of a clean driving license and a safe driving record.
Ability to operate a multi-passenger vehicle safely and appropriately, including the ability to read and interpret traffic signs.
Ability to read, write, understand and comply with the rules and regulations of the road traffic regulations in Cameroon.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to establish effective professional relationships with Jhpiego staff and employees.
Ability to prepare concise and accurate records and reports.
Ability to recognize vehicle maintenance needs.
Ability to carry out minor vehicle repairs.
Ability to reason to interpret policies and procedures, maps and routes.
Ability to administer first aid.
