Position: Emergency & Trauma Care Physician
Location: Humanitarian intervention areas (conflict zones, natural disasters,
epidemic outbreaks)

1. Position Context
As part of its humanitarian interventions, [IFP-HS] is looking for an Emergency &
Trauma Care Physician to strengthen its medical teams in the field. This position aims to ensure rapid and effective emergency response in crises, manage epidemic outbreaks, and provide maternal and newborn emergency care in conflict and disaster-affected areas.  A minimum of 8 years of experience in a humanitarian NGO is MANDATORY for this position.

2. Key Responsibilities A. Emergency & Trauma Care in Humanitarian Contexts ● Perform rapid assessment and triage during mass casualty incidents. ● Implement emergency response protocols and stabilize critically ill patients. ● Provide trauma care for severe injuries, gunshot wounds, burns, and other life-threatening conditions in low-resource settings. B. Management of Communicable Diseases & Epidemic Outbreaks ● Identify and treat communicable diseases (cholera, malaria, measles, COVID-19, Ebola, etc.). ● Implement infection prevention and control protocols in crisis situations. ● Collaborate with local health authorities and NGOs for disease surveillance and outbreak response.




C. Maternal & Newborn Emergency Care in Crisis Situations ● Ensure safe emergency childbirth procedures in conflict and disaster zones. ● Identify and treat obstetric complications in crisis settings (hemorrhage, eclampsia, infections). ● Provide critical neonatal care and organize postnatal support in humanitarian settings. D. Coordination & Training ● Work closely with local medical teams and humanitarian partners to ensure effective response. ● Train healthcare providers and community health workers on emergency medical care and epidemic management. ● Participate in medical coordination meetings and share best practices. 3. Required Profile A. Qualifications & Experience ● Degree in General Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Anesthesiology, or Public Health. ●

MANDATORY: A minimum of 2 years of experience working in a humanitarian NGO in emergency medical response. ● Certification or specialization in humanitarian medicine, epidemiology, or emergency care (an asset).

● Proven experience in epidemic response and management of infectious
diseases in crisis settings.
B. Skills & Competencies
● Strong decision-making ability under pressure.
● Knowledge of international medical standards for humanitarian




interventions (Sphere, WHO, MSF).
● Teamwork and capacity-building skills to train local healthcare providers.
● Adaptability to unstable environments and resource-limited settings. ● Fluency in French and/or English is required. Knowledge of another humanitarian language is an advantage.
