Prepare and submit SESAME reports to COBAC quarterly and annually
Prepare and submit annual tax returns and statistics (DSF) to the tax department
Calculate and be able to interpret mandatory prudential ratios as defined by the Banking Commission of the Central Africa (COBAC)
Prepare financial statements (balance sheet and income statement)
Manage supplier payments
Identify and resolve invoicing issues and accounting discrepancies
Perform financial analyzes and reports
Prepare various periodic reports (daily, monthly, quarterly and annual accounts)
Oversee the validation of transactions and verification of their overall impact on general ledger (GL)
accounts Analyze and justify GL accounts
Prepare performance management dashboards
Perform bank and other accounting reconciliations
Prepare and manage the budget
Develop and propose accounting procedures and policies
Report to management on the financial health of the company
Validate accounting results in monthly, quarterly and annual closings
Participate in internal and external audits
Monitor banking and accounting operations
Manage the treasury of the establishment (investments, mobilization of deposits, etc.)
Monitor and manage end-of-month and year-end closing operations
Perform other general accounting tasks
Minimum experience and qualifications
At least a BAC +3 in accounting
A professional certification in accounting (p. e.g., ACCA) will be an additional asset
At least five (05) years of relevant professional experience acquired within a second category microfinance institution
Skills, abilities and personal qualities
Knowledge (know-how):
o Solid knowledge of Microfinance Accounting Plan
o Solid understanding of SESAME reporting
o Solid knowledge of statistical and tax management and reporting
o Strong digital skills
o Strong computer skills with strong mastery of MS Excel
o Bilingual in English and French
o Knowledge and ability to work with basic banking applications
o Knowledge of relevant finance and microfinance laws
o Mastery of administrative and accounting procedures relating to second category microfinance institutions
o Mastery of management techniques
o Attention to detail at a high level
o Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
o Ability to maintain a very high level confidentiality
