The Foreign Trade Operations Manager ensures the processing and monitoring of the creation of foreign trade documents for clients of a start-up consulting company based in Douala.
Responsibilities:
• Document management: Prepare and verify documents relating to international transactions (commercial invoices, customs declarations, invoices, etc.)
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all operations comply with customs regulations and international trade laws.
• Supplier and customer relations: Maintain regular contact with business partners and freight forwarders to ensure smooth operations. Participate in expanding the customer portfolio.
• Payment management: Track financial operations related to transactions.
• Regulatory monitoring: Keep informed of changes in international trade rules (incoterms, customs taxes, etc.) and adapt processes accordingly.
• Risk management: Identify and manage risks associated with foreign trade operations, particularly those related to regulations.
Required skills:
• Training: Bac +3/4 in international trade, logistics operations management, or a related field.
• Language skills: Fluency in English, knowledge of French is an asset
• Technical skills: Good knowledge of customs procedures, incoterms, international trade rules, BESC, GUCE.
• Mastery of IT tools: knowledge of office automation tools (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.)
• Personal qualities: Rigor, organization, responsiveness, communication skills, and ability to manage several tasks simultaneously, independence, discretion.
