WHAT DO WE DO
SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid association which, for more than 40 years, has provided relief to populations victims of armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting vital needs, drinking, eating and shelter. Particularly committed to the fight against diseases linked to unsafe water, the leading cause of death in the world, SI implements through its interventions expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and promotion hygiene but also in the essential aspect of food security and means of existence. Present in more than 20 countries, the SI teams – 2,500 people in total, made up of expatriates, national staff, permanent staff at headquarters, a few volunteers, etc. – intervene with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultures.
THE MISSION
The coordination team of the Solidarités International (SI) mission in Chad and Cameroon – merged and named Tchameroun – is based in Yaoundé. It is made up of a country director, program coordination (SERA coordinator and manager), an administration, HR and finance department (coordinator, deputies, assistants), a logistics department (coordinator and managers ) and a manager. SI Tchameroun also has three field coordinators (CT). This recruitment notice concerns one of the CT positions, the one based in N’Djamena and responsible for activities in Lake and southern Chad.
SI Tchameroun is present in the regions of Logone Oriental, Lac, Ouaddaï and Sila, in Chad, in the Far North (EN) of Cameroon, in N’Djamena and in Yaoundé. The mission receives humanitarian (ECHO and CDCS) and development (AFD) funds. It is currently carrying out emergency assistance projects – distribution of BNA kits, monetary transfers –, strengthening livelihoods and access to water, hygiene and sanitation. It integrates a strong dimension of empowerment and strengthening of civil society organizations and the resilience of the beneficiaries of its projects. In view of the needs identified, the mission is working to consolidate its positioning in the Far North of Cameroon and in the Lake, South and East regions of Chad. In parallel,

JOB DESCRIPTION
Member of the coordination team and under the hierarchical responsibility of the country director, the grant manager works closely with the program and support departments, as well as with the teams in the field.
Main objective :
Monitor and identify funding opportunities in accordance with the national and global IS strategy.
Anticipate all program and donor deadlines, coordinate the different departments so that project proposals, reports and/or contractual modification requests are of high quality and completed on time, respecting the deadlines necessary for verification and improvement, in coordination and at headquarters.
Supervise the compilation and participate in the drafting of project proposals, reports and requests for contract modifications to be submitted to donors and partners, on time and observing the highest quality standards.
Ensure compliance with donor procedures and strengthen the teams’ capacities on accountability tools and donor procedures.
Strengthen the capacities of teams in the search for financing and strategic partnership opportunities at the local level.
Main Challenges:
Proactively monitor the contractual obligations of lessors, from contract signing to closing and archiving, and ensure that contractual obligations are known and understood by all departments.
Strengthen the capacities of colleagues in the field in terms of writing reports and project proposals, in view of donor expectations.
Contribute to the development of internal and external communication supports.
Initiate and/or participate in meetings with donors; know each other’s strategies.
Strengthen existing partnerships and initiate new ones with international and local NGOs.
Coordinate lessor audit activities in the field in conjunction with headquarters; centralize and prepare the documentation necessary for verifications during external audits and the archiving of audit reports.
YOUR PROFILE
Training and experiences:
Higher degree in political science, development and/or international relations or equivalent
2 years of experience in the humanitarian sector and in an equivalent position
Required Skills :
Knowledge of the rules and procedures of several institutional donors
Writing, analysis and synthesis skills
Planning, organization and coordination skills to absorb a significant daily volume with numerous requests
Financial knowledge sufficient to understand/reread financial reports/budgets
Large sense of diplomacy and experience working in an intercultural environment
Appetite for field travel
LANGUAGES :
French and English required (oral and written)
IF WILL OFFER YOU THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS
A salaried position: Depending on experience, from 1980 euros gross per month (1800 basic salary + 10% annual leave compensation paid monthly) and a monthly Per Diem of USD 450 USD in Cameroon and 600 USD in Chad .
SI also covers housing costs and travel costs between the expatriate’s home country and the duty station.
Breaks: During the mission, a system of alternation between work and leave is put in place for 7 working days every three months (with USD 850 allocated by Solidarités International). To these break periods is added one additional day of rest per month worked.
Social and medical coverage: Expatriates benefit from insurance that reimburses all health costs (including medical and surgical costs, dental and ophthalmological care, repatriation) and a welfare system including war risks. The costs of vaccination and essential anti-malaria treatment are reimbursed.
LIVING CONDITIONS :
The grant manager is based in Yaoundé where living conditions are comfortable. The guest house is located about ten minutes by car from the SI office, in the Bastos district. This is a modern apartment with hot water, television, internet, electricity.
The city of Yaoundé offers leisure opportunities (gyms, bars, restaurants, cultural institute, trekking, etc.) and there is a large expatriate community there.
The grant manager regularly visits the various mission bases, particularly in N’Djamena.
Yaoundé is a quiet city overall. Acts of urban crime have been noted in certain neighborhoods and around markets, so you should be vigilant when traveling.
Due to the volatile security contexts in SI’s areas of intervention in Chad and Cameroon, travel in these areas is subject to specific criteria and conditions.
