Context
As part of the implementation of an innovative project in Africa, which should contribute
effectively to the fight against malaria, Impact Santé Afrique (ISA), a
Cameroonian Non-Governmental Organization engaged in the fight against
malaria, plans to conduct regional and local activities in four countries,
including Cameroon. These activities will aim at community acceptability of this
innovative intervention against malaria. Implemented in close collaboration
with community advisory councils, these initiatives should be guided
by evidence from operational research to be conducted in the countries
involved in the project.
Job Description: Main functions and responsibilities
In order to ensure effective and harmonious coordination of activities in the different
countries of implementation, ISA is looking for a Country Focal Point for Cameroon who, underthe supervision of the Regional Project Coordinator, will coordinate and facilitate the implementationof project activities.Management/Administration• Ensure the representation of ISA and the project to stakeholders andnational authorities in the country• Collaborate harmoniously with stakeholders and the project team toensure the planning and implementation of project activities within the limits ofavailable resources• Facilitate the development and implementation of a strongand robust engagement program for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in the field of health andmalaria• Establish an effective channel of communication between the research team (thecountry research focal point), and the community advisory boards.• Work in collaboration with the finance team and the Regional Coordinatorto prepare and monitor activity budgets at the country level• Contribute to programmatic leadership to ensure the strategic integrity of theprogram • Contribute to the development of knowledge management and sharing tools and processes•Promote and support the dissemination of project information to theproject team and stakeholders (organization of meetings, workshops, etc.)donoroperational policy regulations• Perform or assume any other task assigned by ISA within the framework of this project.




Technical
• Contribute to the development of the program strategy, and oversee the process
of designing appropriate approaches to achieve them • Coordinate and supervise the implementation of the project’s community engagement activities in the country; • Facilitate obtaining the necessary ethical and administrative authorizations for the operational study • Develop and adjust work plans in collaboration with the regional coordination • Supervise the implementation of data collection activities, ensuring strict application of the study protocol. • Train and supervise field teams on the technical and operational aspects of the study. • Contribute to the analysis of operational research data and drafting of the final report • Facilitate the dissemination and use of research findings for the deployment of the overall project strategy at country level • Develop and/or review documents, reports and presentations in accordance with donor guidelines for internal program needs and external dissemination • Coordinate and/or represent the project team in professional settings through technical advisory groups, meetings, conferences and presentations Qualifications • Master’s degree in Public Health, Communication, Social Sciences or a related field; • Minimum of four years of professional experience in health project management , with a minimum of experience in managing innovative and complex projects due to the socio-cultural context; • Good knowledge of advocacy and/or community engagement techniques; • Proven experience in using operational research evidence for intervention implementation; • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint package; Assets • Excellent writing skills in French and/or English; • Excellent oral communication skills; • Knowledge of malaria control programs in the country of practice • Experience of intervention in a phase or the entire process of operational research in public health • Professional experience with NGOs or international institutions. • A positive and dynamic attitude; • Strong organizational skills; • Ability to meet deadlines;
