Hotel La Falaise Bonapriso is hiring a Pastry Chef .
Profile:
- Minimum 10 years of proven experience in a fine pastry shop or 4-star hotel + as Pastry Chef or Sous-Chef
- Experience with local flours, fruits and vegetables (Cameroonian)
- Experience in making cakes, confectionery, chocolates, pies, breads and petit fours according to traditional, contemporary and revisited recipes
- Experience in creating exciting new desserts to renew our menus, window displays and customer interest
- Experiment in decorating pastries with different glazes, toppings for a presentation that is as beautiful as it is stimulating.
- Control the stocks of ingredients (flour, sugar etc) and place the appropriate orders while respecting the budget
- Check the quality of materials and the condition of kitchen equipment and appliances
- Guide and motivate assistant pastry chefs and bakers for more efficient work
- Identify staffing needs and contribute to the recruitment and training of staff
- Keep a clean and orderly workstation and comply with health and safety standards
- Organized and rigorous
- Desired qualities: creativity, precision, skill, organization
- Sensitivity to art
- Managerial capacities
- Thorough knowledge of hygiene principles, food preparation, cooking techniques and nutrition
- Professional knowledge of preparations with restriction of ingredients (gluten-free, sugar-free pastries, etc.)
- Good physical condition
- Great availability to work
