JOB ADVERT : Data Engineer

ikwen is an internet company located in Yaoundé. We are providing B2B Cloud solutions and also B2C products. In order to improve our applications and develop new ones, we would like to hire a Data Engineer.

Job Description :

• Collecting data through means such as analyzing business results or by setting up and managing new studies
• Transferring data into a new format to make it more appropriate for analysis
• Creating new, experimental frameworks to collect data
• Building tools to automate data collection
• Searching through large data sets for usable information
• Creating reports and presentations for business uses
• Correlating similar data to find actionable results.

 

 

Skills and qualifications :

• Knowledge of programming languages like SQL, Python, R, and Scala
• Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau)
• Strong mathematics skills (e.g., statistics, algebra)
• Basic knowledge of data technologies and toolkits such as TensorFlow, Hadoop, Spark, etc.
• Working knowledge of statistics
• Good technical writing skills
• Ability to communicate complex data in a simple, actionable way
• Ability to visualize data in the most effective way possible for a given project or study
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with machine learning and AI
• Familiarity with data management tools
• Ability to work independently and with team members from different backgrounds
• Excellent attention to detail
• Passion for data
• Education and training requirements
• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in computer science, math, software engineering, statistics, data science or a related technical field. However, we are also interested in hiring a Data Scientist who has attended an accelerated data science bootcamp or is self-taught (with a portfolio of projects to prove their skills).

 

 

Plus :

• Bilingual: Must be able to write code in English correctly. Speaking both is better
• Proven experience as Web Developer
• Fast at typing
• Proven experience : One or more projects carried out in the domain may be important
