Context and justifications
The Norwegian Refugee Council is an international non-governmental organization that has been working in the humanitarian field for over 70 years. Its mission is to ensure the promotion and protection of the rights of displaced people affected by the humanitarian crisis. NRC has been operating in Cameroon since 2017. To date, we continue to develop thanks to the implementation of activities in the Far North, East and South-West and North-West regions of Cameroon.
Our coordination office is currently seeking a qualified intern with good
analytical, written and oral communication, IT and strong
interpersonal skills.
Mission Objectives
These objectives are:
To provide a unique learning experience to outstanding students and graduates, To provide eligible candidates with the opportunity to gain practical experience in an
international work environment,
To increase eligible candidates’ understanding of the objectives, strategies and
programs of the NRC,
Provide the NRC with the opportunity to benefit from the knowledge and skills of young,
motivated interns whose academic specialization is in an area relevant to the activities of the NRC.
Tasks
The intern will be responsible for the following activities:
Work closely with the Financial Assistant to understand
NRC financial standard operating procedures and their daily application;
Performs all data archiving and documentation as assigned in an appropriate
and correct manner. Also ensure that the Finance Cameroun filing tree for the Yaoundé coordination office is up to date.
Ensure that all important documents necessary for the proper functioning of the Finance department are kept in a secure location and accessible to staff if needed.
He/she will also ensure that all documents that enter the finance office for processing
are directed to the appropriate staff for action.
He/she will also participate in the verification of payment documents as part of his/her
learning process and will be trained in NRC best practices to ensure the success of the department
as a whole.
He/she will also work closely with the Programs, Security,
M&E, Human Resources and Logistics department to ensure compliance with Finance Procedures.
Provide weekly reports on routine tasks regarding document verification, updated files and documents uploaded to the filing tree to his/her supervisor.
Desired Profile
The intern must meet the following criteria:
Minimum HND or BTS in accounting, finance, management, economics or other related fields, with at least 01 year of relevant professional experience.
Partial qualification from professional bodies such as ACCA, CPA, CAT, will be an
added advantage,
Working knowledge of French is required and English will be an added advantage,
Computer skills (MS Ward, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet).

Carry out assigned tasks within the allotted deadlines,
Communicate professionally;
Express yourself and write in a clear, effective and respectful manner,

Adhere to the values of the NRC, the code of conduct, the administrative and security policy of the NRC
