JOB: Logistics and Transport Manager – BP SA

BLESSIG PETROLEUM SA is a Cameroonian company specializing in the storage and marketing of petroleum products. As part of the deployment of its strategy by conquering a national and international clientele wishing to benefit from its quality services, BLESSING PETROLEUM SA is launching a call for applications for the recruitment of a (01) Logistics and Transport Manager in the city ​​of Douala




 

As Logistics and Transport Manager, you will be in charge of supervising and coordinating the activities of the maintenance, logistics and rolling staff teams. In doing so, you will ensure the design of tools for piloting the logistics and transport management activity to trace the routing of transported products with the aim of rationalizing and optimizing the costs and operations of BLESSING PETROLEUM SA.
MISSIONS
Placed under the responsibility of the Operations Director, the Logistics and Transport Manager will have the main missions:
  • Monitor the different areas of activity of the Logistics and Transport Department
  • Define a flow management policy and write service procedures
  • Plan and coordinate transportation operations to ensure timely delivery of petroleum products
  • Coordinate loading and unloading operations of petroleum and petroleum products
  • Supervise the maintenance, repair and upkeep of the vehicle fleet to ensure its operational reliability
  • Optimize delivery routes to minimize costs and improve transportation efficiency
  • Manage contracts with transportation providers and negotiate rates competitively
  • Ensure compliance with local and international regulations, safety and environmental standards in all transport operations
  • Manage drivers, including training, scheduling and performance evaluation
  • Track fuel stocks and manage vehicle supplies
  • Deploy and maintain permanent synergy with commercial entities in order to meet supply constraints and meet customer requirements

 

  • Establish regular reports on logistics performance and transport costs
  • Propose innovative actions and solutions for better profitability of logistics and transport activities
  • Manage disputes and complaints related to transport operations
  • Ensure regulatory monitoring of the Service to guarantee the confusion of the activity
  • Ensure compliance with unloading procedures and carry out relief operations in compliance with safety norms and standards specific to petroleum products
  • Train staff and customers in procedures for stuffing and unpacking petroleum products
  • Evaluate the performance of the Service in order to identify areas for improvement and optimization
  • Ensure permanent reporting of logistics performance
PROFILE Qualifications and qualities required
  • Bac + 3 or 4 in Logistics/Supply Chain or related discipline
  • Professional experience of at least 05 years including 03 years in the position
  • Proven experience in managing logistics teams
  • Proven professional experience in the transportation of petroleum products
  • Mastery of logistics processes and procedures
  • Strong skills in planning and managing transportation operations
  • In-depth knowledge of local and international regulations and safety standards related to the transportation of petroleum products

 

  • Strong commitment to safety and respect for the environment Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Quality control skills
  • Easy expression in English
  • Excellent ability to use the office pack
  • Driving license B (C would be a plus)

Desired qualifications

  • Good technical knowledge of transit-customs procedures
  • Good knowledge of hygiene, safety and respect for the environment standards
  • Certification in logistics or supply chain (ideally related to transport activity)
