SUMMARY PRESENTATION OF THE STRUCTURE
SWAA is a pan-African NGO created in 1988 during the world
AIDS conference in Stockholm. The goal was to set up a forum where
African women would carry out collective actions in the fight against AIDS, taking into
account our respective socio-cultural contexts.
This dynamic, initiated following the Stockholm conference and the
creation of the NGO SWAA, gave rise to the birth of SWAA Cameroun in
1990, and SWAA Littoral in 1991.
Initially located within the confines of the Laquintinie hospital in Douala, where it
mainly developed prevention activities, SWAA Littoral was
transferred in 2002 to its new comprehensive care center for
people living with HIV called “SON-NINKA Center” located on rue Foch
in Akwa district in Douala, and financed by SIDACTION.
Since June 2019, SWAA Littoral, thanks to the generosity of numerous donors
, has moved into its new premises, located in the Mbanga-Bakoko district, in
the Douala 3rd districtcommunity control

NATURE OF THE ENGAGEMENT
The social worker will be hired under a fixed-
term employment contract which will be based on the projects ensuring their remuneration.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The successful candidate will be responsible for participating in the implementation of
SWAA Littoral’s social policy as part of the social monitoring of
beneficiaries.
As such, he/she will be mainly responsible for:
Ensuring the supervision and coordination of the activities of the Social Unit
Keeping records: statistics; direct aid; scheduling of
laboratory appointments; home visits; contribution from
patients
Make external appointments for the various services
Organize the distribution of food to OVC and participate in the
packaging of food packages
Supervise trainees in the context of social work.
Ensure the supervision of festive events of a social nature
Welcome, listen, create the file and possibly direct referrals
to other units.
Confirm on a case-by-case basis the level of indigence determined at reception
Manage the sponsorship of OVC by individuals
Develop the list of beneficiaries (OVC) to be proposed to the Coordination of
Activities
Carry out orientation interviews with the parents for their children
Provide educational assistance to OVC in moral danger,
couples, patients and young girls
Provide courses on comprehensive sexuality education in schools
Ensure the use of visit reports at home
Participate in weekly and monthly meetings for evaluation,
restitution and programming of VAD
Write weekly and monthly activity reports+
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Training
The targeted candidates must hold a
BAC+2/3 level diploma in the field of Social Assistance, Social Relations, or
equivalent.
Experience
Professional experience of at least 2 years in the field is required.
