Summary:
The work schedule for this position is:

Duties
Incumbent is responsible for the full range of clerical functions relating to the non-immigrant visa (NIV). The incumbent directs the NIV related duties. The incumbent also coordinates the work in the NIV process. The NIV Assistant is the main point of contact between Post and host country officials, other Embassies and U.S. agencies, and international organizations.
The incumbent will perform all aspects of Immigrant Visa (IV) processing, prepare applications for officers to conduct interviews, administer the online IV appointment system, communicate with the public on visa related issues, and perform a variety of other tasks and backs-up other consular IV LES as needed.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: At least three (03) years of experience in any of the following fields: visa work or related consular duties, complex administrative duties, customer service, work involving the application of relatively complex regulatory or legal material in an international organization or large local institution.
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must have comprehensive knowledge of the attitudes, preferences of the immigration sector and an understanding of U.S. values and culture. Must have knowledge of ethics, integrity, clerical duties, language skills and customer service standards in the United States and Cameroon, knowledge of trends in experiential learning and audience engagement.
Education Requirements:
Two years of college/university studies in Communications, Business Administration, Law, International Affairs, American Studies, or local equivalent is required.
Evaluations:
LANGUAGE: Fluency in Reading/Writing/Speaking/Understanding of both English and French are required. This may be tested.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Incumbent must be able to effectively communicate clearly and efficiently by telephone and in person in both English and French. Must have good interpersonal skills. This may be tested.

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Yaoundé – Cameroon may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.
For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
