Hours: 40 hours/week
Duty Station: Buea
Length of Assignment: 6 month fixed-term contract
Background:

on a combination of education, child protection and livelihood support to address the social, economic
and structural issues that underpin today’s education crisis. We partner with local organizations and
communities to deliver our locally rooted programs, using evidence to drive learning and the
refinement and scale up of programs to create maximum impact for the most children at the lowest
cost. We pride ourselves on being willing to go to the world’s toughest places where others won’t,
including remote, hard-to-reach areas and fragile, disaster-affected states across sub-Saharan Africa
and South Asia. Since 2008 we have helped over 250,000 children to go to school and learn and
supported over 25,000 families to set up businesses so they can afford the cost of educating their
children.

Part 1: Role Purpose:
Provide support for day-to-day financial, administration and grants management for across Street
Child programs in Cameroon and working very closely with national partner finance teams.
Part 2: Key Responsibilities:
Under the overall responsibility of the Country Representative of Street Child and with the direct line
supervision of the Finance Manager, the Finance Intern shall perform the following tasks:
1) Financial Management & Reporting (50%)
• Assist the finance manager & partner finance teams to ensure that timely and accurate
payments are made
• Coordinate with project team for issuance and reconciliation of advances and expenses
• Support in the preparation of documentation for project activities (eg attendance sheets,
signatures, ID cards)
• Ensure financial documents are properly filed & tagged
• Assist in the preparation of and timely submission of information for reports
2) Petty Cash and Banking (25%)
• Processing of petty cash transactions and ensuring petty cash is replenished
• Carry out cash count s in consonance with internal procedures
Liaise with/visit the bank as needed for collection and submission of documents, as directed by Line
Manager

• Assist in monthly bank & account reconciliations
3) Administrative Tasks (25%)
• Provide general financial, admin or logistics support as required for the proper management
of office and projects operations
• Other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Attributes Essential Desirable
Education / •
Be holder of at least an HND in:
Internal Control, Management, Banking
Qualifications Finance, Accounting and or related disciplines
Experience • At least 1 year work experience in accounting, • Experience working for

banking, project management in a reputable

Knowledge • Experience in implementing financial policies • Knowledge of major
