Shwari Health Cameroon is a locally registered organization with a vision to ensure the provision of quality, effective and innovative evidence-based solutions to address health systems challenges within the Health sector in Cameroon and beyond with a special focus to children and adolescents. To achieve this, Shwari Health Cameroon uses proven community strategies to identify HIV infected children and adolescents , refer them to health facilities for initiation on treatment , support and accompany them through treatment to ensure they remain in care and achieve viral suppression. Our mission is to be one of the most sought-after implementation science association in Cameroon that uses evidence-based strategies to effectively cover the ‘Know-Do’ gaps in the provision of health services. We aim to achieve this through the application of modern evidence generation and synthesis methods to understand operational contexts so as to devise strategies that could make the implementation efforts more effective and efficient. We are constantly expanding our expertise to ensure that our pooled experience is adequate to be responsive to the changing needs in health service provision. Our team has in depth knowledge and experience in working in the Cameroon local healthcare system, at all levels from community to policy making at national and subnational levels. By applying different innovative approaches such as multisectoral collaborations, data analytics and Continuous Quality Improvement, we have been able to understand organizational processes and barriers to effective implementation of various community interventions aimed at improving access to health services by children and adolescents.




 

Position Title: Program/Technical Director 

Reports to: Shwari Health Cameroon CEO

Location of Work: Center & East Regions

Number of positions: 1

The Program Director  will provide technical oversight for the program and supervise the technical teams.  The position will also provide technical support for healthcare workers at the facility to improve quality of HIV care, treatment and related services for children and adolescents across the care continuum. The position holder will manage a team of healthcare professionals that will be involved in pediatric and adolescents HIV case identification, linkage and retention on treatment. Further, the Program Director will be held accountable for meeting all program targets, ensuring collaboration and technical support for Ministry of Health Districts and community structures for effective oversight and ownership of all program activities.

 

Specific Position Functions:

  • Develop capacity enhancement and development strategies to ensure community service delivery teams acquire the competences necessary for implementing and sustaining key programmatic interventions.
  • Lead development and implementation of community case identification, linkage and retention remediation and improvement plans.
  • Support the implementation of enhance differentiated and patient-centered care delivery models for children and adolescents
  • Supervise all technical teams of program
  • Use data and CQI principles to improve service delivery at community level.
  •  Lead Performance Dashboard Review exercises for community outcomes/performance for all assigned facilities.
  • Promote adoption of best practices in HIV/AIDS and integrated services delivery at a regional level based on work done within the supported health facilities.
  • Supervise the Regional Technical Team Leads.
  • Collaborate with Georgetown Global Health Cameroon Leadership and Management teams to ensure seamless joint implementation of programs
  •      Prepare and submit periodic performance and progress reports to the technical Director, Georgetown Global Health Cameroon

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Nursing degree with MPH
  • At least 10 years of demonstrable experience in the field of community HIV programming
  • Proven experience in pediatric and adolescent community case identification, linkage and retention
  • Robust experience in management roles
  • Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
  • Must be fluent in English, working knowledge of French preferable
