JOB DESCRIPTION
Role and responsibilities
The purpose of the Temporary ICLA Officer position is to cover up for staff on maternity leave. During this time, the staff will ensure the day-to-day implementation of projects in the assigned office with focus on Planning, Implementation, Monitoring & Evaluation, and Reporting.

2- Generic responsibilities which are function specific;

Ensures adherence to NRC policies, manuals and guidelines.
Implements the activities delegated to him/her in accordance with the action plan.
Writes activity reports as requested by the supervisor or management.
Ensures the correct archiving of documents.
Ensures that projects target beneficiaries with the greatest needs and contributes to providing assistance.
Encourages and advocates for technical improvement.
Promotes the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy.

 

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES
3- Specific responsibilities

Contribute to the design of tools for needs identification, planning, implementation and evaluation of the response.
Contribute to the operational planning of activities and monitor their implementation.
Design training modules for community stakeholders including local leaders, and contribute to the improvement of existing ones.
Organize and co-facilitate training for ICLA teams and relevant partners, and beneficiaries (administrative authorities, customary authorities, humanitarian organizations, etc.)
Input and update beneficiary data into ICLA’s case management tools.
Undertake regular monitoring and evaluation of ICLA activities, and contribute to monthly progress reports on activities, highlighting any technical or operational successes.
Promote synergy with NRC’s other core competencies in order to develop integrated approaches for a holistic response to the needs of beneficiary populations.
Identify relevant advocacy issues related to land tenure and legal identity and contribute to planning and implementation of advocacy events.
As delegated by line manager, participate in meetings, working groups, seminars and training workshops (internal or external) and take advantage of this to contribute to the capacity building of all NRC staff and partner teams.
Any other task relevant to the position as requested by the line manager.

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS
Generic professional competencies for this position:

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience within field of expertise project coordination
Technical specific knowledge from the humanitarian sector
Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
Documented technical skills related to the position’s responsibilities
Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
Fluency in English and French, both written and verbal
Context related skills, knowledge and experience (shall be adapted to the specific position):

Knowledge of the context of the North and Southwest Regions
Hold a university degree in law or its equivalent.
Proven knowledge of the fields of Civil Status, rural and urban land management, collaborative conflict management methods.
Good knowledge/experience in conducting qualitative/quantitative assessments and in responding adequately to identified gaps.
Experience working in complex and volatile contexts.
Have a good knowledge of the local languages ​​of the area of ​​intervention.
Have a good command of computer tools (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Duration of the contract: 03 months, with no extension.
• Salary / Benefits: In accordance with NRC’s Salary Grid.
• Duty station: Buea
