TREASURER & CREDIT MANAGER

Our client is a key player in the distribution of oil and gas products in Cameroon.
REPORTING LINE
Direct Reports To: Accounting and Finance Manager
JOB PURPOSE
To guide and steer the company’s treasury management from cash flow and banking relationships through to in-depth foreign exchange positioning and risk management.
To ensure adequate procedures and controls exist to safeguard the company’s financial assets and adequate facilities are in place to support the business.
To accurately input invoices to ensure payments are done timely and to authorized vendors and timely resolution of vendor queries.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial records and procedures:
Ensure that proper financial records and procedures are maintained both in the bank accounts and the local books of accounts. This includes the disbursement, banking, protection and custody of funds, securities, and financial instruments.
– Cash Management:
Perform cash management operations based on a detailed and comprehensive forecasting of the Company’s cash in and outflows to facilitate the effective utilization of cash resource through: the control of working capital, the investment of surplus cash, the use of banking facilities to achieve the lowest cost funding
Prepare Bank reconciliations daily for all Bank accounts and cash accounts operated by the Company, ensure they are reviewed and approved monthly by the Financial Accountant, before the cash reconciliation report is sent to the Group Treasurer Review and control the bank
charges and financial costs incurred to ensure the Company is charged per the agreed terms and conditions.
Perform monthly cash reconciliation and explain any variance.
– Financing:
Ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investments requirements.
Give management guidance on future financial position and budget requirements.
Advise management on the liquidity aspects of its short- and long-range planning.
– Bank Relationships:
Maintain and improve the existing bank relationships.
Ensure guidance and support to the A&F Manager in the negotiations.
– Working Capital Management:
Provide leadership, information, and advice in management of the company’s working capital monthly.
– Reporting:
In charge of the periodic cash reports (daily, monthly, and annual)
Build the annual budget, maintain, and update the 3-month forecasts.
Provide and guidance in the development of Treasury annual budget and review the key economic indices, assumptions and projections used in the business plans as submitted by various departments.
– Internal Controls:
Maintain updated and approved list of the bank signatories.
Ensure compliance of the treasury decisions with the DoA rules of the Group
– Risk Management:
Implement risk management practices though prudent programs of insurance coverage and loss control.
In compliance with the Group policies, use hedging to mitigate financial risk related to the foreign exchange positions.
– KYRIBA (Software / ERP):
Ensure maintenance and utilization of KYRIBA as per the dedicated procedure.
Maintain relevance and exhaustiveness of data and ensure daily control of the imports and exports of the cash flows.
Optimize KYRIBA functions. Support the implementation and the improvement of KYRIBA functions.
– Credit Analyst:
Input invoices and payment data into Accpac accounting system.
Stamp all invoices (in AP batches) as having been processed through the system.
Pass journal entries for all payables’ corrections into the General ledger and book canceled checks accordingly.
Request reconciliations.
Responding to supplier queries on matters regarding invoices, credit notes and payments.
Running, printing and analyzing of AP Late Payments Report monthly.
Running AP Duplicate Payment Report daily.
Performing any other tasks that may be allocated by the Accounts Payables Supervisor in the line of duty.
Financial Management
Manage the allocation of budget across the Department to ensure complete adherence and highlight any deviation from the plan in a timely manner and take corrective action as necessary and in line with the approved governance process.
Consolidate all reporting department’s budget input to formulate department budget and submit to leadership for approval and further consolidation.
People Management
Ensure that any employee has a Job description that reflects the expectations of the management about the position held.
Ensure, at the beginning of the year, that employees have been assigned challenging goals and that they are aware of the management expectations, along with set deadlines.
Provide guidance to direct reports, mentor, and coach them when necessary.
Ensure that the staff is provided with the relevant training and materials needed to perform their job effectively and efficiently, in line with their job descriptions.
Monitor performance and give feedback and appraisal reviews on a regular basis to ensure that performance objectives are met.
Formulate workforce planning reports and talent acquisition plan and budgets for the department to ensure adequate staffing for optimal operational smoothness and submit to the leadership for approval.
Identify talent for pivotal roles from a succession management perspective to ensure business continuity and liaison with HR for enrollment in the necessary program.
Hold regular meetings with the staff in order to strengthen the social climate; and to improve effectiveness and efficiency at work.
Promote effective communication on all levels of the organization within the company and with other corporate functions and Group
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
A University degree in Finance
At least 5 years post qualification experience in Financial Management in the commercial sector.
A previous experience at the position of at least 2
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Good knowledge of: Cash, Prepayments and Checks Management / Internal Control / Payment and Banking Systems / Risk Assessments and Mitigation / Treasury Management.
Ability to: Lead & develop people, to think Strategically, implement change management,
