JOB VACANCY – Tire Coordinator.
A reputable Transport/logistics Company in Douala requires a suitable and dynamic Tire Coordinator to join their team. The incumbent in the position will report directly to the Technical Manager.
What will your duties be?:
- Checking and controlling Truck Tires before departures.
- Checking and controlling Truck Tires when back from trips.
- Recording of tire assets by physically handling and inspecting tire unique numbers and recording process manually during workflows and transferring the manuals to ERP efficiencies for reporting and tire life reports.
- The full life cycle of tire assets concerning maintenance, on-route pressures, identifying risks impacting asset performances and general tire inspections.
- Ability to communicate with Superiors and Management to present reports recommendations, and control tire movements generally.
- Tire stock management, orders, and disposal of used casings.
- Understanding tire sizes, tire performances, tire applications and road conditions recommends and select the applications best suited for the operational requirements of the fleets.
- Knowledge of tires, tubes, tubeless applications, and rims.
- Managing a tire department with staff to fit and remove tires from rims and or fitment to rims.
- Supervising the team responsible for the fitment of tires to trucks and the book/record keeping of these tire assets.
- Assigns, reviews, and evaluates the work of tire employees.
- Examine damaged, defective, or flat tires to determine the root cause and the feasibility of repair while assigning workers to these tasks, such as removing nails, changing tubes, installing boots, and changing tires.
- Mount, balance, dismount, movement of tires.
Minimum Requirements:
- Four years’ experience as a Tire Technician, preferably from the automotive industry.
- Prior experience as a technician’s helper or apprentice in the automobile industry is preferred.
- Experienced in tire wear, mounting, and dismounting while using hand and mechanical tools.
- Experience managing and maintaining tire stock levels.
- Computer literate with mastery of ERP software and other electronic tools.
- Must be able to understand, speak, read, and write the English and French language with a reasonable standard of fluency.
- Willing to work weekends and holidays as and when required.
- Good Interpersonal skills and the ability to supervise, coach, and develop a team.
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Department Manager.
- Good understanding of Safety rules and standards.
