JOB DESCRIPTION
The role of the Food Security & Livelihoods Coordinator is to ensure, in accordance with the rules of the art, the implementation of the portfolio of Food Security/Livelihood projects for which he is responsible for the North and the Far North of Cameroon.
RESPONSIBILITIES
General Responsibilities:
Manages and supervises field project staff.
Adheres and complies with NRC policies, guidelines and procedures
Contributes to the development of strategy, proposals and advises on needs.
Manages and implements the project portfolio (activities, budget and project documentation) delegated by the PM in accordance with the proposals, strategies and donor requirements and ensuring optimal quality.
Regularly reports to his direct supervisors on the progress of projects by submitting written reports.
Ensures that projects target beneficiaries with the greatest protection needs and evaluates new and better ways of providing assistance.
Liaises and collaborates with local authorities and other stakeholders.
Promotes the rights of displaced/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy.
Specific responsibilities:
Ensures better visibility of food security and livelihoods project activities.
Proposes directions for achieving project results.
Strengthens collaboration between different stakeholders.
Strengthens staff capacities as needed.
Contributes in all phases of developing project proposals.
Carries out needs assessment missions in the field in order to identify future sites and possible beneficiaries and establish vulnerability criteria if necessary.
Organizes training for project staff, but also strengthens the capacities of beneficiaries.
Produce on time, statements of need, requisitions and other requests and justifications linked to the smooth running of project activities.
Supervises activities in the field, ensuring smooth running, compliance with reporting deadlines and the budget in collaboration with the supervisors.
In collaboration with the supervisor, plans, organizes, coordinates and controls Food Security and Livelihoods projects.
Develops a simple guide for orientation of field workers allowing data to be updated by others.
Ensures compliance with the planning of project activities and the monthly forecasts of related expenses by following the established model and ensuring follow-up.
Make necessary and proactive proposals to management to ensure that project objectives and results are achieved.
QUALIFICATIONS Skills
:
General professional skills:
Proven professional experience in project implementation in a humanitarian/recovery context.
Diploma of at least a Bac + 4 in agronomy, agriculture, project management or any related field.
Professional experience of at least 3 years in management and coordination of Food Security and Livelihoods projects.
Knowledge of your leadership style/profile.
Good knowledge of English would be an asset.
Context-specific skills, knowledge and experiences:
Proven experience in the field of monetary transfer (cash and voucher), AGR, WITH, distribution of food or kits Seeds and tools
Experience in agricultural cooperatives or work with farming communities;
Work experience in the North and Far North regions
Good knowledge of local habits, cultures, languages spoken in the North and Far North is an asset
Knowledge of national and international norms and standards relating to food security and livelihoods
Ability to understand issues related to cross-cutting themes such as gender, protection, HIV/AIDS, the environment.
Computer science: MS Office required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);

Position status: Local position open to candidates of Cameroonian nationality
Duration of contract: 12-month fixed-term contract, renewable depending on availability of funding and based in Maroua with 50% field travel;
Competitive salary and benefits: Grade 7 of the NRC Cameroon scale and 90% medical insurance;
