LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Our mission. African Capability Network (ACN) provides consulting, outsourcing and supply of goods and services.

ACN is the network for African skills and its diasporas. It operates in capacity building, consulting and auditing, recruitment, HR placement and umbrella companies, and project development and monitoring and evaluation.
ACN is recruiting a Learning & Development Manager for a company based in Douala.




Specific profile description
The Learning & Development Manager will be responsible for managing the skills development strategy and strengthening the expertise of its teams. In collaboration with the HR and operational departments, you will design and deploy innovative training programs, aligned with the company’s strategic objectives and business needs. Your role will be key in fostering a culture of continuous learning and preparing the talents of tomorrow.
The missions of the position
He/she is responsible for:
1) Development of the training strategy
– Carry out a diagnosis of existing skills and future training needs
– Conduct interviews with managers and employees to identify expectations and areas for improvement – Use assessment tools (feedback, surveys, skills tests) to map training needs – Define a vision and training objectives in line with the company’s overall strategy – Design an annual or multi-year training plan integrating skills development actions – Determine appropriate teaching formats (face-to-face, e-learning, blended learning, coaching, mentoring)
– Ensure that training complies with legal and regulatory obligations.
2) Management of training programs
– Establish an annual training calendar taking into account team availability and operational constraints – Coordinate training logistics (rooms, equipment, digital tools, course materials)




– Ensure the registration and design of employees for the various sessions
– Identify and contract with external training organizations or internal experts
– Ensure the quality of interventions and compliance with specifications
– Organize training sessions for internal trainers to improve their teaching skills 3) Needs analysis
– Carry out an inventory of employees’ current skills
– Compare these skills with job requirements and market developments
– Identify skill gaps requiring upskilling or retraining- Conduct employee surveys and polls to understand their training expectations- Analyze feedback from annual assessments to identify areas for improvement in terms of skills- Study developments in the sector and professions to anticipate the future skills needed
– Analyze previously completed training and its impact on employee performance
4. Monitoring & Evaluation
– Define criteria for measuring the effectiveness of training (satisfaction, skills acquisition, impact on
performance)
– Develop hot (immediately after training) and cold (a few months after) evaluation questionnaires- Set up tests and simulations to assess learner achievements




– Collect and analyze employee feedback via satisfaction surveys
– Organize interviews with managers to measure the application of acquired skills in work situations
– Identify strengths and areas for improvement in the training provided
– Compare performance indicators before and after training (productivity, quality of work, reduction errors)- Write detailed evaluation reports for management and HR managers
5. Animation & Coordination
– Design interactive teaching materials (presentations, case studies, role-playing)
– Promote the active participation of employees and encourage the exchange of experiences
– Select and manage trainers (internal and external providers
– Provide support and monitoring of speakers to guarantee educational quality – Organize coordination meetings with trainers to harmonize content and teaching methods Training level:
– Hold a minimum of a bac+5 level that is Masters Degree in HR management or related training
Skills
– Mastery of modern teaching techniques and digital learning tools
– Ability to analyze data and measure the impact of digital learning actions – Excellent communication skills and ability to lead groups, convince and unite around a common project
– Initiative, sense of innovation and ability to manage cross-functional projects in a constantly changing environment
– Strong motivation to work in the environment
– Good professional network related to the function
– Advanced mastery of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Google Workspace
Requirements for the position

– Excellent written and oral communication skills
– Good ability to plan, organize and prioritize work independently
– Good ability to assess and manage risks
Experience:
– Minimum 8 years of experience in a responsible position in Human Resources and/or 5 years in the same position.
Language:




– Bilingual (English & French).
