Main objective
In close collaboration with the Nutrition Officer and the other technical staff of the project, the Livelihood assistant contributes under the responsibility of the Project Manager, to ensure the technical supervision of the project activities, in particular: Targeting of beneficiaries, Needs analysis/assessment, Distribution agricultural seeds, Awareness raising and technical training of beneficiaries, monitoring of IGAs (Income Generating Activities) and technical support for project beneficiaries.
Responsibilities
Specific tasks:
- Ensure the supervision of community groups benefiting from IGAs;
- Ensure periodic planning of activities;
- Contribute to the identification/targeting of groups, villages and beneficiaries;
- Participate in the identification and technical assessment of needs in collaboration with the Supervisor;
- Ensure technical relations in the field with local authorities and local partners;
- Prepare and participate in supervision missions;
- Provide technical support and follow-up/supervision of the training of beneficiaries;
- Participate in project coordination meetings at the health district level;
- Monitor and evaluate the activities of the beneficiary groups of the project and guide them technically;
- Participate in the design/management of project working tools (sheets, training modules, etc.);
- Organize regular (weekly) technical meetings with the different local groups;
- Regularly participate in meetings on the progress of project activities organized by the Project Manager;
- Participate in the management and organization of local labor teams during the distribution of agricultural seeds, for the conduct of agricultural and fishing activities;
- Submit periodic reports (weekly & monthly) of activities;
- Train, monitor and supervise field agents, promoters and community volunteers;
- Develop beneficiary monitoring sheets;
- Participate in the development of the terms of reference of the various monitoring activities;
- Assume all other tasks assigned by his supervisor.
Requirements
Education
- University level (Bac +3) in agronomy or similar sciences and a good experience in IGA, especially in the establishment of cooperatives, community associations,
- Agronomist, agropastoral agent etc,
Experience
- Experience of at least 2 years in a position of Agronomist technician with humanitarian and/or development NGOs.
- Proven experience in the field of IGA
- Good knowledge in setting up and monitoring VSLAs and other community organizations
- Experience in managing emergency and/or development projects and in Behavior Change Communication (BCC).

- Hold a motorcycle driving license, category A (compulsory).
Language
- Proficiency in the local language,
- Fluency in French and English (written and spoken)
