JOB DESCRIPTION

The purpose of the position is to support the implementation of all NRC Programs in the North-West. The Logistics Assistant will work closely with all the logistics team members to ensure that procurement, fleet, warehouse, and all other aspects are managed effectively. He/she will work under the supervision of the Field Office Coordinator, who will provide him/her full support in the implementation of all relevant activities.




 

RESPONSIBILITIES

A –  Generic Responsibilities 

  1. Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
  2. Assist with the implementation of the support function portfolio according to plan of action
  3. Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
  4. Ensure proper filing of documents
  5. Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function

B – Specific Responsibilities 

  1. Ensure that vehicles are used and maintained according to Logistics Handbook and other NRC policies
  2. Ensure all drivers adhere to NRC logistics and driver’s procedures
  3. Compile and submit monthly vehicle utilization, engine motor, asset, and carpool reports
  4. Ensure NRC fleet is utilized and optimised accordingly.
  5. Prepare requisitions for spare parts for vehicles & Generators

 

 

  1. Coordinate and facilitate timely reporting of eventualities like accidents and breakdowns
  2. Secure that NRC vehicles are equipped with necessary documents and equipment
  3. Ensure all drivers fill movement logbook and that logbook is signed by the passengers.
  4. Responsible for the receipt, storage and dispatch of all assets items from Yaounde Office ensuring that proper documentation is maintained for same.
  5. Ensure that assets are tagged before being dispatched to the field.
  6. To also ensure asset movement is tracked in the Asset Register
  7. Assist the Logistics Officer with Physical Asset Counts and documents as may be required.
  8. Ensure that all vehicle records and reports including logbooks, accident report etc. are filled appropriately.
  9. Keep log of the generators and ensure that fuel consumption is monitored and recorded appropriately
  10. Filling of all maintenance, vehicle log books, insurance documents, fuel report in office 365
  11. Ensure that there is a maintenance plan for all equipment including vehicles
  12. Support Warehouse operations

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 C – Generic Professional Competencies:

  • Experience working as a Logistics Assistant in a humanitarian/recovery context
  • Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  • Knowledge of English and working knowledge of French

D – Context/ Specific skills, knowledge, and experience:

  • Experience from a relevant position preferably at least 2 years of experience working as logistic staff in a humanitarian/recovery context
  • Experience with inventory, asset and vehicle management
  • Experience with computers – Microsoft Office
  • Strong understanding of the context in the Northwest and South West Regions
  • Minimum of HND or equivalent in Logistics Management or related fields

 

We offer

•    Beginning:  November 2023
•    Duration of the contract: 12 months, renewable depending on the availability of funds
•    Salary / Benefits: In accordance with NRC’s Salary Grid.
•    Duty station: Bamenda
