PRESENTATION OF THE ORGANIZATION
SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid association
which, for more than 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations who are victims of armed conflicts and

of natural disasters by responding to vital needs, such as drinking, eating, and shelter.
Particularly committed to combating diseases linked to unsanitary water,
the world’s leading cause of death, SI implements through its interventions
expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and
hygiene promotion, but also in the essential field of food security and livelihoods
. Present in around twenty countries, the SI – 2000 teams

people in total, made up of expatriates, national staff, permanent staff at
headquarters, a few volunteers, etc. – intervene with professionalism and commitment
while respecting cultures.
Solidarités International (SI) is determined to prevent and combat all types of abuse
– any act of sexual exploitation, abuse and/or harassment (SEAH) against

members of the beneficiary communities or its collaborators,
harm to persons and/or property, fraud, corruption, undeclared conflict of interest,
financing of activities that violate human rights – which could be
perpetrated in the context of its interventions. SI applies zero tolerance towards
the acts of SEAH

I. JOB DESCRIPTION
The Logistics Assistant assists the –Logistician Base Far North for the implementation
and supervision of all logistics activities at the Maroua base.
He provides particular support for the completion of urgent tasks,
classification, archiving and reporting in compliance with donor and IS compliance
(Fraud, Corruption, code of ethics, etc.).
II. FUNCTION
Supply management
• Ensure the capitalization of price and supplier lists, as well as
administrative documentation Master IT purchasing procedures and those of

donors financing the mission’s programs Receive, verify and process
requests for quotations and LA issued by the base.
• Ensure that purchasing files are complete and archived according to
IS procedures.
• Implement purchases while ensuring compliance with
validation rules and procedures.
• Negotiate prices, deadlines and delivery terms.
• Monitor relationships with suppliers and partners.
• Monitor LAs and inform requesters of the progress of processing
their orders.
• Maintain purchase monitoring (LA monitoring and Contract monitoring) for
Makary base purchases.
• Ensure order compliance.
• Ensure compliance with administrative procedures for managing advances and
paying suppliers within the specified timeframes.

• Carry out monitoring in LINK and archiving in accordance with internal IS procedures.
Vehicle fleet management
• Participate in the planning and monitoring of maintenance and
repair operations for the Base’s vehicles.
• Establish the vehicle movement schedule.
• Ensure the composition and presence of the on-board lot in all vehicles.
• Check the presence and proper use of vehicle tracking logs.
• Ensure the monitoring and consolidation of fuel consumption and
mileage indexes for each vehicle.
• Carry out the administrative management of vehicle-related documents (log book,
contracts, insurance, registration, etc.).
• Prepare the monthly fuel consumption report.
• Supervise staff travel by providing them with the
required means of transport and monitor movements.
• Ensure the pooling of vehicles at the base level.
• Ensure that vehicles are maintained and comply with normal conditions
of use.
• Participate in the various freights.
Equipment/Telecommunications Park Management
• Participate in the installation, use and security of equipment.
• Supervise the monitoring and maintenance of equipment.

• Responsible for monthly backups of all computers in Maroua
.
• Participate in the backup and protection of information according to the IS policy.
• Provide practical support in the configuration of
hardware and software computer systems.
Inventory management
• Supervise the maintenance and security of warehouses.
• Ensure the maintenance and pest control of the premises.
• Supervise and implement the security policy at SI.
• Provide the personnel and equipment necessary for loading / unloading.
• Supervise the daily staff team linked to the warehouse activity.
• Write or complete shipping or receiving documents in accordance with
Solidarités International standards.
• Control the entry and exit of materials.
• Set up protection against insects and pests inside the
warehouses and apply treatment at the first signs of infection.
• Ensure adequate ventilation of the premises.
• Ensure that the devices and machines used by the teams are cleaned
before returning to the warehouse.
• Check the quality of the products upon receipt. Discard non-
compliant or infected products and report them to the Base logistician.

• Regularly check the quality of products during storage. Pay
particular attention to expiry dates.
• Contribute to fuel stock management and the completion of
related documents.
• Maintain paper stock sheets and battery sheets.
• Carry out monthly inventories of stored goods and materials and
reconcile them with the theoretical inventory.
Office and Residence Management
• Regularly inspect Solidarités International offices and residences to determine the necessary work to be undertaken, and propose necessary
repairs . • Take stock of needs and manage a stock of maintenance parts and consumables. • Maintain all equipment or furniture on the base, carry out minor maintenance and repairs as well as improvements to Solidarités International buildings, after validation by your line manager. • Alert on the state and maintenance conditions of the buildings (Pest control, security, etc.). Supervise the proper use of generators and all other devices providing the base’s energy and plan maintenance operations. Human resources management • Participate in the recruitment and evaluation process of the members of the logistics team of his Base. • Establish the monthly work schedule for guards and Drivers. • Ensure or participate in logistics training. • Organize monthly meetings with his team (drivers and guards). • Manage teams, anticipate and alert his superior in the event of possible conflicts within his team. • Ensure the administrative management of his team in conjunction with the administration and his superior (leave, attendance sheet). • Supervise, support, train and control the team under his supervision. III. REQUIRED PROFILE Education: BAC + 2 in logistics and transport or equivalent diploma Experience: at least 2 years in humanitarian work; at least one year of experience in a similar position in an NGO, skills in procurement, stock management, vehicle management, equipment/telecommunications fleet management; IT management. Languages: Knowledge of French is mandatory; knowledge of English is an asset IT: Office Pack; LINK is an asset
