LOGISTICS DRIVER (F/M)
EVIHDAF is an international research and evaluation organization based in Yaoundé, Cameroon, serving the West and Central Africa region. It provides services in research, evaluation and learning; Data, analytics and information systems; and social and behavior change strategies. His areas of practice include health and health systems, nutrition and food security, and agriculture and livelihoods. We have a USAID-funded project office in Niamey, Niger, and a satellite data unit office in Parakou, Benin (www.evihdaf.com).
We are looking for a dynamic and motivated candidate to fill the position of Logistician Driver. He will have extensive responsibilities, providing support for the management of the vehicle fleet, travel and mission planning, monitoring of office maintenance work, organization of small local purchases according to EVIHDAF rules.
Qualifications, skills and experience required
In this context, the job holder is responsible for:
Driving
• Transporting people with a service vehicle for EVIHDAF employees, guests and official visitors;
• Use all available sources of information (including radio traffic updates) to be aware of road conditions, accessible routes and localities, and share this information with other members staff.
Vehicle maintenance
• Check vehicle logbooks and prepare fuel consumption sheets;
• Ensure the follow-up of the technical control of the vehicles of the office;
• Supervise the regular cleaning of vehicles both inside and outside;
• Control, monitor and request the updating of periodical documents for office vehicles (car registration document, insurance, technical visit, etc.);
• Immediately report any involvement in an accident, however minor, as well as any damage to the office vehicle, any deterioration or theft of vehicle equipment.
Logistics
• Day-to-day management of the office (maintenance work / office layout, minor maintenance)
• Support in the logistical preparation of workshops/seminars and meetings;
• Organize the purchase of small office supplies and other small equipment according to the rules and procedures of EVIHDAF;
• Receive the material ordered and ensure the conformity of the material ordered
• Assume other activities and tasks on the instructions of his superior;
• Participate, as needed, in continuing education courses related to the position.
Qualifications
• Hold a high school diploma + professional training
• Hold a B driving license
Experience required
• At least 1 to 3 years of experience as a professional driver
• No major accident in the last 3 years
Other skills
• Good knowledge of French and/or English
• Endurance at work and patience
• Mastery of computer tools
• Knowledge of first aid
