LSHTM Ideal Urban Futures Competition (Up to £500) 2024
Young people have a key role to play in driving action to achieve net-zero cities and design healthy, sustainable cities of the future in Zimbabwe. The Art of Health Competition in collaboration with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine Centre on Climate Change and Planetary Health and the Children, Cities and Climate project called on talented young Zimbabweans to submit design or music entries under the theme: “The air we breathe in Zimbabwe’s cities”. The competition served as a platform for them to express how they felt about the city they live in, the air they breathe, and the potential benefits that improving air quality could have on the health and well-being of young Zimbabweans.
The competition invites young people to submit art works. Your art, graphic design or photography submission must address any of the questions below:
- How have your health and wellbeing been affected by climate change?
- What are the solutions to the effects of climate change in your city?
- What does an IDEAL URBAN FUTURE look like to you? (One in which the causes and effects of climate change have been successfully addressed)
