Handicap International supports associations for people with disabilities in the countries in which it operates. Its goal is to empower people with disabilities to promote and defend their rights (access to health services, education, employment, sports, and culture).
Handicap International (HI) announces the recruitment of fourteen (14) Drivers

 

Context :

Established in 2014, the HI Institute for Humanitarian Action has a dual, essential role in a world where intervention conditions are becoming increasingly complex:

• A monitoring and surveillance role: its purpose is to define positions on the ethical and political questions that the association faces and which determine the relevance of its actions as well as the safety of its teams.

• A role as a catalyst for reflection and debate: through its publications, debate sessions and position papers, the HI Institute for Humanitarian Action contributes to the enrichment and vitality of our ideas, values ​​and principles. It provides both the perspective and the perspective necessary to achieve the association’s mission.

 

Main Missions:

Secure team transport:
Ensure the daily movement of investigators and supervisors to the various investigation sites.
Optimize routes to efficiently cover the study area.
Logistical support:
Help identify hard-to-reach survey areas.
Participate in the loading/unloading of collection equipment (tablets, survey kits, etc.).
Vehicle maintenance:
Perform basic technical checks (oil level, tire pressure, etc.).
Immediately report any mechanical problems requiring repair.
Security :
Strictly observe the highway code and safety instructions.
Ensure the protection of the team and equipment in all circumstances.

Qualifications and skills :

o Valid driving licence [category C] .

o Proven professional driving experience (minimum 2 years).

o In-depth knowledge of the intervention area (roads, villages, neighborhoods).

o Reliability and punctuality essential.

o Sense of service and good adaptability.

o Asset: Basic notions of mechanics.

 

 

Professional experiences :

– At least 2 years of experience as a driver (field experience with 4×4)
with good performance without accidents;

– Experience with an NGO and/or an international agency would be an asset;
