As part of the reinforcement of its sales force, PECTEN EMPLOYEES COOPERATIVE CREDIT UNION (PECCU – BOD) is recruiting trainee credit and collection agents with the possibility of being confirmed at the post after their trial period.

Place of work: Douala
Missions:
Placed under the responsibility of the General Manager, the trainee credit and collection agent’s main missions are to create, develop, manage a healthy portfolio of credits and proceed with the collection of debts doubtful and immobilized.
Main Activities:
• Prospect customers;
• Analyze credit applications;
• Determine customer creditworthiness;
• Determine repayment capacity based on credit demand;
• Analyze all the risks inherent in a loan file;
• Write briefing notes for the credit committee;
• Follow the stages of the credit process;
• Ensure the repayment of loans from clients in its portfolio;
• Follow the evolution of customers’ activity and the use they make of their loan;
• Ensure the management of pre-litigation with defaulting customers in compliance with the rules in force;
• Verification of the level of provisions for the institution’s compromised debts as well as reversals of provisions;
• The conduct of actions specific to pre-litigation (field visits, asset evaluation, drafting of agreement protocols, etc.);
• The validation of the summary notes in each file retracing the history of relations with the debtor and indicating the amounts to be recovered and the actions taken;
• Preparation and participation in litigation/recovery committees, then drafting of related reports;
• Monthly reporting of activities in its field of activity (recovery, file entries, seizures-sales, etc.).
• Sell all the products and services offered by the institution to any potential client.
Skills required:
• Good knowledge of financial analysis
• Good knowledge of the microfinance sector and/or the banking sector
• Knowledge of sales techniques and commercial negotiation
• Good knowledge of office tools: Word and Excel
Profile required:

Education:
Minimum BAC+3 in Management Sciences, Marketing, Commerce and Sales, Accounting, Banking and Finance, Law or other related disciplines;
French-English bilingualism would be an asset.
Credit experience is desirable.

Placed under the responsibility of the Director General, the main missions of the trainee loan and collection officer are to create, develop, manage a healthy portfolio of credits and recover doubtful and immobilized debts.
Main activities:
• Prospect customers;
• Analyze credit applications;
• Determine the creditworthiness of customers;
• Determine repayment capacity based on credit demand;
• Analyze all the risks inherent in a loan file;
• Draft briefing notes for the credit committee;
• Follow the steps of the credit process;
• Ensure the repayment of loans from clients in its portfolio;
• Monitor the evolution of clients’ activity and the use they make of their loan;
• Ensure the management of pre-litigation with defaulting clients in compliance with the rules in force;
