PROJECTIONIST NEEDED

We are currently seeking an adaptable, successful, and experienced Projectionist as part of our kick off operations in Cameroon. In this role, you will be responsible for the projection equipment and maintenance, ensures that film runs properly, inspecting film reels for defects, smoothly switching reels without interrupting to keep audience entertained.

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities include the following and other duties as may be assigned

  • The Projectionist is responsible for all day-to-day technical operations of the cinemas and ensuring that high quality and standards, in line with Health & Safety requirements are maintained.
  • He will be responsible for the planning, organizing and implementation of the maintenance and operation of performance-related equipment at the cinemas, including projectors, speakers and other technical systems used during movie screenings/ cinema events.
  • To deliver quality Presentation of all screen activity, through both Sound and Projection by ensuring that all relevant processes are followed to the required standard, exceeding guest expectations.
  • To deliver minimum show loss by ensuring that all relevant maintenance processes are followed to the required standard on all departmental Sound & Projection equipment.
  • To assist the Technical Manager in maximizing the performance of all Technical employees by leading, developing teamwork and through effective training & performance management.
  • To champion, implement and sustain Technical and Operations Standards, Company Policies and Procedures and initiatives, ensuring that these are communicated effectively to all employees within the Technical environment.
  • To review information/reports to seek opportunities for preventing loss, ensure the security of assets, Guests and employees at all times. Ensuring that equipment and processes are used effectively and procedures followed consistently.
  • To inform and communicate effectively with the Technical Team and provide feedback to the Technical Manager & Management Team on Technical performance.
  • To assist the Technical Manager in the maintenance of, operation and care of all critical and non-critical lighting.
  • To assist the Technical Manager in the selection, recruitment and induction of new projection employees.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Candidate must possess a minimum of HND / BSc in Engineering or relevant field
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Good IT and technical skills.
  • Knowledge with editing of media / video materials, such as raw footage / trailers
  • Must be a good Team player with excellent ability to multi-tasking and able to adapt to varying situations.
  • At least 1 years’ experience in a similar role: Cinema, Projection, etc.
  • An interest in films and the film industry is essential. Basic knowledge of sound or electronics is also useful.
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft office suite (Ms word, PowerPoint, outlook and excel).
