JOB OFFER FOR ONE (01) ASSISTANT MANAGER OF MENTAL HEALTH & PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT PROGRAM (SMPS) M/F

Gross salary for the category:              According to the current Action Against Hunger salary scale

Place of residence:                                The employee’s place of residence will be Maroua

 

 

 

Objective of the position  : Provide technical support to psychosocial workers, set up group psychological support activities, as well as ensure permanent analysis of activities in the field linked to the different intervention pillars of the project.

.

Diploma / Level of study: 

–        Diploma in Clinical Psychology;

–        BAC+5 level or equivalent ;

 

Required skills :

–        Project management and budget monitoring skills;

–        Knowledge and practices in transcultural psychology;

–        Successful experience on themes promoting gender equality or personal commitment;

–        Strong organizational and planning skills;

–        Excellent ability to listen, empathize and lead groups;

–        Flexibility and strong ability to work under pressure;

–        Ability to work in a very austere environment that is often unstable in terms of security;

–        Very good team and stress management skills.

 

 

Main tasks :

 

Mission 1: Provide technical support to Mental Health and Psychosocial Support programs

– Assist in the smooth running of programs by providing technical skills and evaluation through presence in the field;

– Provide organizational support for activities in the field;

– Provide technical support to teams of psychosocial workers and supervisors, then work to develop their skills;

– Contribute to the preparation and delivery of training for the team as well as for external partners

– Acting as program manager, supervise psychosocial workers;

– Develop the teams’ capacities to analyze the program and the context through training;

– Ensure the quality of services in accordance with current care protocols and project objectives;

– Participate in defining and respecting the team’s objectives.

 

Mission 2: Participate in the collection of information concerning the needs of beneficiaries in terms of mental health

–        Know how to recognize groups of individuals who are more vulnerable and in need of psychological support;

–        Observe and collect information regarding the mental health needs of beneficiaries during program activities;

–        Report this information systematically in each activity report.

 

Mission 3: Ensure the compilation of data and the preparation of program activity reports

–        Contribute to the collection and control the accuracy of statistical data by updating the supervision team’s databases;

–        Ensure the proper use and understanding of monitoring tools by all TPS;

–        Analyze the information collected and participate in the evaluation of the program;

–        Develop the quantitative APR, monthly narrative on request and in the absence of the Program Manager;

–        Evaluate the effectiveness of the program and highlight its evolution and objectives;

–        Write the technical part of the weekly reports and transmit to the program manager.

 

Mission 4: Assist the program manager in data analysis

–        Write reports allowing the program manager to have an overall analysis of all activities;

–        Acting as the program manager, ensure coordination with the other pillars of the project;

–        Write recommendations for the direction of the project.

 

Mission 5: Participate in the logistical and administrative management of the program

–        Anticipate the necessary needs (materials, medicines, movements) for the implementation and continuation of activities in good conditions;

–        Manage stocks of consumables and anticipate orders;

–        Establish equipment purchasing requests based on reported needs;

–        Establish requests for equipment releases based on reported needs;

–        Develop and participate in the validation of the schedule of weekly movements;

–        Make per diem requests for nights spent off-site for all the Animators.

 

Mission 6: Conduct program training (PSP, GBV etc.)

–        Pass the knowledge test at the beginning and end of training;

–        Master the administration of the training courses contained in the project;

–        Master the content of the training to be carried out;

–        Know how to speak in public, and adapt the content and methodology according to the audience.

 

Mission 7: Respect strict confidentiality:

–        Ensure strict respect for the confidentiality of data, property of the beneficiaries of the project and of Action Contre la Faim;

–        Respect confidentiality regarding the content of clinical interviews, outside of discussions with the teams in charge;

–        Evaluate the impact on our beneficiaries before and after care.

 

Mission 8: Work in coherence and collaboration with the Nutrition Health team and in particular with the assistant and the supervisors of the mobile clinics

–        Demonstrate adaptability;

–        Communicate with people from other areas;

–        Coordinate its actions with the actions of other components;

–        Be creative;

–        Have precise knowledge of the activities of the other pillars in order to be able to direct, when relevant, some of our beneficiaries towards them.

 

SPECIFICATIONS

This job profile may be subject to permanent modifications depending on the evolution of activities. These modifications will be defined and discussed between the employee and Action contre la Faim.

This position requires many direct contacts with children, and you are required to respect the ACF International Child Protection Policy in all circumstances (depending on the position!)
