RECRUITMENT OF TWO EPIDEMIOLOGISTS
Global Health Systems Solutions (GHSS)is a non-governmental, non-profit organization dedicated to finding innovative solutions to strengthen the health systems of developing countries for the effective delivery of services and surveillance of infectious, non-infectious and neglected tropical diseases. . We focus on three key areas: improving laboratory systems and services critical to disease management, surveillance and prevention; strengthen field surveillance and epidemiological training of affected populations in animal and human health to mitigate disease threats, and improve service delivery at all health levels. We are currently looking for two (02) qualified and experienced epidemiologists, as part of the implementation of optimal vaccination coverage against COVID-19 in Cameroon.
1- THE OBJECTIVE
The Epidemiologist will provide technical and strategic epidemiological support to plan, develop, and implement COVID-19 response activities related to surveillance, information system, data analysis as well as monitoring and surveillance. the evaluation.
2- ASSIGNMENTS
The epidemiologist will be responsible for:
– Provide epidemiological expertise and technical assistance at the intersection of service delivery and data analysis and use of COVID-19 vaccination. This may include strengthening or supporting the development of disease surveillance systems (for early detection, investigation and response), contact tracing, vaccine administration monitoring and vaccine safety monitoring. AEFI;
– Define key indicators for immunization performance monitoring, review existing national information management systems and determine their usability for managing COVID-19 immunization data and identify necessary modifications;
– Provide technical support to the team in charge of digital solutions to inform the development, deployment, implementation and monitoring of tools necessary for the management of vaccination programs against COVID-19, improve systems of supply chain and logistics management information, monitoring systems, etc.;
– Support the introduction of an electronic, paper-based or partially digitized tool to enter and monitor COVID-19 vaccination rollout, if no such system exists, based on standard requirements;
– Advise and contribute to the analysis of information to guide the appropriate planning, deployment, management and monitoring of the administration of the vaccine against COVID-19;
– Strengthen the collection, management, analysis, interpretation and use of surveillance data to inform the response to COVID-19, contributing to thought leadership and engaging country teams to build local capacity and accelerate the transition.

3- CANDIDATE PROFILE
The candidate must have the following qualifications:
– Experience in immunization, public health surveillance systems, disease prevention and control programming efforts, vaccine preventable disease prevention programming and/or emergency preparedness and response emergency in international settings, including experience working with developing country disease surveillance systems;
– Experience in routine immunization program management and/or vaccine distribution implementation, including surveillance and response to AEFI and Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI);
– Experience in collecting and using epidemiological data for program planning and implementation, including knowledge of predictive analytics and innovative methodologies;
– Experience in responding to epidemics in low- and middle-income countries (e.g. COVID-19, Ebola, Zika, Cholera, etc.). Experience in the field of HIV/AIDS preferred;
– Knowledge and understanding of the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI), including the use of EPI data;
– Knowledge and understanding of the Global Health Security Agenda, including pandemic preparedness and response, diagnostic networks/early warning system, laboratory system;
– Strong work, budget and personnel planning skills;
– Excellent knowledge of written and verbal communication;
– Mastery of statistical software (STATA, SAS, SPSS, R);
– Ability to work in a dynamic and agile environment with changing demands and priorities;
– Ability to guide and support clients, project teams and technical teams in designing and implementing solutions that meet specified requirements;
– Demonstrated ability to work effectively with team members and clients of different cultures, genders and hierarchical levels;
– Willingness to travel and work overseas 25-30% of the time in developing countries and elsewhere.
– Attention to detail and deadlines with strong organizational skills;
– Be highly motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team;
– Have a good command of English and strong verbal and written communication skills;
– Excellent interpersonal skills are required;
– Demonstrate the ability to work effectively as a member of a fast-paced, multicultural team while maintaining a customer-centric orientation.
– Hold a Doctorate in Medicine and a Masters in Public Health or Epidemiology;
– Justify a professional experience of at least five (05) years in a similar position.
– Having a command of French would be an asset.
4- PLACE OF ASSIGNMENT
Applicants must be willing to work anywhere nationwide .
5- TYPE AND DURATION OF THE CONTRACT
Fixed-term contract of one (01) year renewable.
6- SALARY
