Horizons Femmes (HF) is a non-profit Cameroonian association which benefits from a legal personality according to the texts in force. It implements development projects for disadvantaged and vulnerable groups. Its main mission is to help reduce gender inequalities through the promotion of community health, rights and democratic governance as well as the socio-economic advancement of women and girls.

 

In order to achieve its mission within the framework of its various projects with its partners, Horizons
Women is looking for 02 motivated and committed Gender-Based Violence (GBV) focal points. Candidates must demonstrate skills and extensive experience in GBV prevention and response. The position is open to internal and external applications at Horizons Femmes.

1- JOB TITLE: GBV FOCAL POINTS

NUMBER OF PLACES AVAILABLE: 02
DURATION OF JOB: 12 ​​months including the trial period
LOCATIONS: Bafoussam (01), Yaoundé (01)
JOB MISSIONS:
• Develop and implement implement GBV prevention and response strategies

 

 

MAIN TASKS:
Under the responsibility of the Drop-in-Center Manager, GBV Focal Points must:
• Identify cases of violence;
• Document all identified GBV cases;
• Provide first-line response to identified cases;
• Encourage victims to denounce;
• Make the referencing and follow-up of registered cases;
• Record all data in collection tools (paper and digital);
• Organize communication activities for behavior change and capacity building of actors in the field and beneficiaries on GBV and other related topics;

 

 

• Organize advocacy activities aimed at law enforcement and community leaders;
• Ensure the socio-professional and economic promotion of the beneficiaries.
JOB PROFILE
Education/training – Baccalaureate (or equivalent) +2 in legal sciences or social sciences;
Experience required – At least 2 years of experience in GBV prevention and response;
– Have knowledge of the different types of GBV;
– Have knowledge of legal and judicial procedures;
– Have knowledge and experience of advocacy techniques;
– Have knowledge in the development of the partnership.
Qualities – Ability to work in a team;

– Attendance at work and at meetings/work sessions; – Follow-up of recommendations.
WORKING HOURS
Monday to Friday
– 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with a mid-day break
– NB: Rearrangements of working days and hours are regular
