Position to be filled: Trainees Counsellors. Psychosocial.es Yaoundé (02)

ALTERNATIVES-Cameroon is the Association for Freedom, Tolerance, Expression and Respect for People of Indigent Nature or Victims of Social Exclusion. The Association promotes the defense of human rights, is non-profit, governed by Law No. 90/053. It has been legally recognized since October 27, 2006 by the Prefecture of Wouri (Declaration n°204/RDDA/C19/BAPP). Since 2008 we have opened a center called “Access Medical Center” in order to advocate accessibility to HIV information, prevention and treatment of this infection.

 

In order to help young graduates to link theory to practice, we are looking for 02 trainee Psychosocial advisors for our Yaoundé site who must meet certain conditions:
Under the supervision of the Health Manager, the Psychosocial Counselor trainee will have to perform the following tasks;
• Mobilize, raise awareness and screen MSM, MSM and their female and/or male partners at risk of HIV.
• Assist in follow-up, group and individual counseling within the framework of psychosocial monitoring
• Participate in the animation of listening activities, psychosocial support and the referencing of the beneficiaries of the association
• Identify among the beneficiaries, people destitute (according to the evaluation criteria for material well-being)
• Conduct low-level gender violence screening and psychosocial support for survivors
• Participate if necessary in the home visits of the people followed
• Periodically write reports of activities carried out
• Participate actively in all the activities of the association
• Update the databases and data for monitoring patients
Profile and Requirements:
Training/Diplomas : BAC + 2, Training diplomas in social sciences
– Honest, available, organized, be dynamic and motivated
– Be in non-judgment and confidentiality

 

Duration of the contract: 03 months renewable
Salary intention of the internship: unpaid.
Location of the position: ALTERNATIVES Cameroon Yaoundé NSIMEYON
Composition of the file:
– Letter of motivation addressed to the Executive Director of ALTERNATIVES Cameroon
– A detailed CV
– A copy of the National identity card
– A copy of the highest diploma
