Presentation of the association
The French Red Cross (CRf) and the Cameroonian Red Cross (CRC) are humanitarian associations
, auxiliaries of public authorities, which provide aid and assistance to
vulnerable people.
Since 2010, the French Red Cross (CRf) has been present in Cameroon and intervenes in
areas of health, nutrition and food security and livelihoods (SAME)
in the Eastern and Far North regions.
Recruitment context
Creation of a pool of temporary guards to ensure the replacement of guards
during periods of absence.
Presentation of the position
I. Objective / Summary of the position.
Under the responsibility of the Logistics Assistant, the guard participates in the implementation of
programs and collaborates closely with the administrative and program services, as well as
the entire Red Cross team.Page 2 / 4
II. Location of the position
This position is open to people with the required profile and residing in Yaoundé;
III. Responsibilities
A. Contribute to security management
– Ensures compliance with FIU security rules by the security team.
– Is on duty at the entrances and patrols the assigned area
– Keeps a watch and remains reachable at all times
– Carries out regular rounds inside the plot during the day and night.
– Ensures in the evening that all doors and windows of the premises are closed and/or padlocked
and reports any
– Ensures that all property present inside and outside the premises (office) is
protected and secure . If necessary, inform your superior
– Ensure that the access gates to the premises are opened and closed to allow vehicles to pass
CRF and staff
– Regularly checks that the security installations (barbed wire, gate, wall, roof,
lighting, fire extinguishers, etc.) are functional and reports any problem immediately to
their supervisor.
– Ensure that only authorized personnel enter the premises. All visitors must
wait outside until their entry has been validated by the person being visited.
– Controls people entering and leaving buildings.
– Asks visitors to identify themselves and give the reasons for their visit. Access to
the FIU premises may be refused to any unauthorized person.
– Ensures that any person carrying a weapon does not enter the premises of the FIU
– Take measures for the identification and control of people having access to the
premises of the base, especially prohibiting any armed person;
– Ensures a handover with his colleague at the start and end of the service.
– Ensures that you remain at your post at all times and does not leave it before succession is
assured.
– Ensures that you remain on duty until the next shift arrives (never leave CRF buildings
unsupervised)
– Ensures monitoring of the security of offices, stores and residences (faulty key, proper
locking, etc.)
– Instructions on the different registers all movements of vehicles and people in
the different premises of the FIU
– Ensures proper functioning of all equipment made available
– Contributes to the cleanliness of exterior spaces
– Identifies repair needs, informs his superior and ensures its implementation
– Ensures the cleanliness and storage of his workspace.
– Occasional assistance in unloading CRF vehicles, upon request from the driver
or a logistics manager.
– Participates in small maintenance work on the base.
– Check that all goods transported by vehicles are authorized and
that a WAYBILL is issued and signed in due form
– Respects the calm in the yard during office hours and ensures the tranquility of the premises
in the evening from 9:30 p.m. until 7:30 a.m. (until 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday).
– The FIU may also occasionally ask the guard for labor work
without any remuneration in return.
B. Ensure internal communication
– Provide necessary information to your line manager
– Carry out any additional task requested by your line manager.
– Report any incident immediately to their line manager
– Inform their line manager in the event of a problem with the electrical current or in the event of
an emergency
– Warn them in advance in the event of incapacity due to illness or emergency;
– Transmits the needs of the guards to his superior (case of illness,
replacement, abandonment of post, etc.);
– Alerts delegates in the event of unauthorized intrusion by a third party or unusual or
suspicious event.
– Reports any breach of mission security rules to superiors.
– Inform your manager immediately if any equipment on the plot is missing or
damaged;
C. Contributes to the management of consumables
– Provides guards with the necessary equipment for cleaning;
– Ensures the release of structural stocks (office supplies, stationery,
electrical equipment, hardware, household products, water, coffee, sugar, etc.) in accordance with
FIU procedures;
– Ensures that consumables, guard materials and emergency stocks are
available at the workplace;
Qualification and experience
Diploma/Level of study:
– CEP level or more desirable;
– Training in logistics, or security, or equivalent would be an asset;
– Significant experience in security management;
– Humanitarian experience recommended;
– Experience of at least 2 years in a similar field;
Required knowledge:
– Know how to organize and manage the security of people and property;
– Good knowledge of the security context of the intervention area; ;
– Good analytical and synthesis skills;
– Good knowledge of security;
– Computer skills would be an asset (knowledge of Word and Excel software);
– Fluency in written and spoken French; Page 4 / 4

– Reporting ability;
– Excellent team management skills;
– Ability to work independently and in a team;
– Good communication, feedback of information;
