1 – Main missions    design infrastructure (roads, buildings, bridges, tunnels) and different types of development; participate in the design of buildings, infrastructure (roads, bridges, tunnels, etc.), urban networks (water, electricity, sanitation) and public spaces, use computer-aided design (CAD) software to produce detailed plans and simulations, assess the technical, economic and environmental feasibility of projects, taking into account standards, regulatory constraints and user needs, coordinate all stages of design, implementation and delivery of projects, collaborating with other professionals (architects, urban planners, contractors), participate in the supervision of field work to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.

  analyze and resolve technical problems and propose innovative and sustainable solutions; contribute to the planning and development of cities, taking into account environmental, social and economic issues.

2- Required diploma

The applicant must hold an Urban Engineering Diploma

3- Experience

• A minimum of two (02) years of professional experience in the field.

4- Necessary knowledge: have the ability to analyze and solve problems, as well as a global vision of sustainable urban development.

     manage sensitive information and must be able to manage it with discretion, have expertise in civil engineering, urban planning, fluid mechanics, soil mechanics, structural calculation, computer-aided design (CAD); master design software (ROBOT BAT, MS PROJECT); have the ability to analyze data, solve complex problems and make decisions, have the ability to manage projects, coordinate teams and communicate with stakeholders, have interpersonal skills, diplomacy, a taste for teamwork, have the ability to adapt to changes in the sector and the specificities of each project;,

have the ability to anticipate the future needs of territories and develop long-term strategies, master the principles of sustainable development and eco-design.

5- Age requirements

     Be between 25 and 40 years old.

The file includes.

– A handwritten job application written in French or English, addressed to the Mayor of the City of Douala, stamped at the current rate (01 tax stamp and 01 municipal stamp),

– A Curriculum Vitae (CV),

– A cover letter,

– A photocopy of the birth certificate dated less than three (03) months;

– A photocopy of the reference diploma dated less than three (03) months.

Copies of supporting documents for professional experience,

A photocopy of the National Identity Card or valid passport.

2 – Deadline and place of submission

Complete files will be received every working day from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. from May 16 to 30, 2025 at the Urban Community Mail Service.

The Mayor of the City will communicate the final results by press and posting.
