JOB OFFERS – MASANTE – Better Access to Health Care – Cameroon: Field Supervisors

MA SANTÉ [Better Access to Health Care] is a Cameroonian NGO based in Yaoundé. It was created in 2006 with the aim of contributing to improving access to health care in Cameroon through research, training and the implementation of health interventions. Its activities are organized from its head office in Yaoundé and its decentralized sites based at the regional annex hospital of Kousseri (Far North, Cameroon), at the CMA of Congo I (Douala, Cameroon), at the health district of Mogodé (Far North, Cameroon) and the Foumban health district (West, Cameroon).

 

 




 

Field Supervisors

The field supervisor will be responsible for supervising data collection activities in the region for which he/she will be responsible and his/her main tasks will be to:

Participate in training on quantitative data collection tools/methods
Obtain agreements administrative support from the heads of health facilities and traditional authorities of the villages which will be selected in its region in charge
Introduce each team into the health facilities and villages which will be selected in its region
Ensure the compliance of the data collection process in its region in charge
Regularly check the quality of the data that will be produced by the teams present in the region in charge before submission to the online server

 

 

 

Monitor the discipline and diligence of the members of the survey team
Collect data from the targets using the tablets
Attend debriefing meetings
Report to the project monitoring and evaluation manager as well as his hierarchy
Ensure the availability and proper functioning of the equipment necessary for data collection in the region in charge
Prepare a final data collection report data

The eligibility conditions for the position of Field Supervisor are as follows:

Hold a Master’s degree in Public Health and Epidemiology, demography, statistics
Have proven experience in field supervision in quantitative surveys
Be able to express yourself in French and English, expression in Arabic and Fulfulde would be an asset
Have proven experience in monitoring hospital and community-based data collection
Have a good command of community activities,
Have proven experience in monitoring data quality
Have knowledge of one of the target regions of the study
Be available for a survey of the period from October 15 to December 15
Mastery of data collection tools will be an asset (KOBO collect, ODK collect)

 

 

Composition of the application file:

The application file written in French or English will include

A curriculum vitae of maximum two pages;
A cover letter specifying the subject of the application, the chosen region;
Copy of the National Identity Card;
Copies of the highest diploma;
All documents attesting to experience in the field.

NB: In the candidate selection process, a language test and use of a tablet to administer a questionnaire could be organized. Only pre-selected candidates will be contacted
