RECRUITMENT OF TEN MONITORING AND EVALUATION AGENTS
Global Health Systems Solutions (GHSS) is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization dedicated to finding innovative solutions to strengthen health systems in developing countries for effective service delivery and disease surveillance. infectious, non-infectious and neglected tropics. We focus on three key areas: improving laboratory systems and services essential for disease management, surveillance and prevention, strengthening field surveillance and epidemiological training with populations concerned in animal and human health to reduce disease threats and improve service delivery at all levels of health.
We are currently looking for ten (10) qualified and experienced Monitoring and Evaluation Agents, as part of the implementation of optimal vaccination coverage against COVID-19 in Cameroon.
1. AWARDS
The objective/mission assigned to the Monitoring and Evaluation team is:
– Ensure the implementation of the grant, the definition of objectives, and the achievement of results;
– Provide strategic information, for pragmatic improvements and adjustments;
– Support learning and application of data for ongoing relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, impact and sustainability of the COVID-19 emergency program in Cameroon;
– Report to the administration on the results and progress of the funds, and respond to other donor/funder needs;
– Put in place mechanisms for collecting data to facilitate the evaluation of donors.
- Under the overall guidance of the Principal Investigator and the direct supervision of the Project Manager, Principal Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer is responsible for developing the system, and ensuring the quality of the monitoring and reporting system, including the management of the results of the COVID-19 response activities of site supervisors, community relays and implementation partners (the Ministries of Health, and the Organizations of the Civil society).
- Develop and/or modify indicators, operational definitions, guidance note in accordance with the evolution of the Access response to COVID-19;
- Ensure that the indicators capture the results of implementation sufficiently to report to donors and internal learning;
- Collaborate with the system manager in the development and customization of the reporting system (database, report templates, etc.);
- Collect information from implementing partners on the use of the reporting system and suggest modifications to improve the system if necessary;
- Ensure compliance of implementing partners with GHSS guidelines on use of reporting forms/sheets and timely reporting;
- Systematically document all system-related challenges encountered throughout the reporting cycle and nurture the team there for the future development of web-based reporting.
- Act as a technical focal point to organize/deliver trainings and exchange sessions on the ECHO platform with donors and other implementing partners on COVID-19 vaccination reports;
- Clarify concerns and questions raised by the Ministry of Public Health, site supervisors and data managers to ensure a common understanding of the indicators;
- Guide analysis, interpretation and communication at the program level to inform top management of important findings in order to make important programmatic and strategic decisions;
- Participate in the preparation of donor reports in close collaboration with system development focal teams and programme/strategy teams as necessary;
- Serve as a focal point to coordinate and collaborate with the Internal COVID-19 Vaccination Information Unit to exchange knowledge and information related to possible data sources for internal COVID-19 vaccination monitoring;
- Be aware of areas in need and inform of any opportunities/issues impacting GHSS’s COVID-19 response in Cameroon;
- Work closely with other members of the GHSS team to ensure harmony in the work and the flow of information between team members; Perform any other duties required by GHSS management.
2. CANDIDATE PROFILE
- The candidate must have a master’s degree preferably in monitoring and evaluation, public health, statistics, social sciences, information management systems, public administration, development studies, economics or other relevant fields;
- Qualifying training in monitoring and evaluation would be an asset;
- Justify a minimum of two (02) professional experience in the field of health programs;
- Solid experience in setting up a reporting system using the database, dashboard reporting and/or information system management;
- Professional experience in reporting emergency response programs would be an asset;
- Previous experience of participating in any activity related to the response to the
COVID-19 and/or reporting is desirable;
- Have a good knowledge of English and excellent writing skills;
- Have a good analytical capacity;
- Fluency in French would be an asset.
- PLACE OF DUTY
Applicants must be willing to work anywhere nationwide .
- TYPE AND DURATION OF THE CONTRACT
Fixed-term contract of one (01) year renewable.
