CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR THE RECRUITMENT OF 150 VOLUNTEERS AND THEIR PLACEMENT IN CULTURAL ENTERPRISES AND DECENTRALIZED TERRITORIAL AUTHORITIES

The Route Des Chefferies (RDC) is a cultural, tourist and economic development program whose mission is to preserve and promote the cultural, natural and creative heritage of Cameroon.

An International Non-Governmental Organization (INGO) accredited to the International Organization of la Francophonie (OIF) since 2018, its missions are, among other things, to:

Highlight the cultural heritage of Cameroon;
Strengthen intercultural dialogue;
Bring together local heritage and tourism stakeholders;
Promote and support research activities.

 




 

La Route Des Chefferies is continuing its 2020-2025 development plan for the implementation of several activities in Cameroon and abroad. The DRC is setting up a training center for professions in heritage and cultural and creative industries (ICC) called the Professional Training Center – Heritage and Cultural and Creative Industries (CEFOPICC). This center is attached to the Cité Internationale du Patrimoine and includes an incubator for cultural projects whose opening is planned before the end of 2024.

The CEFOPICC’s mission is to pilot the various projects linked to strengthening the employability of young people in the tourism sector. heritage and ICCs in Cameroon, with the institutional support of partners such as the French Embassy and the French Institute of Cameroon, the Ministry of Arts and Culture (MINAC), the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises of Social Economy and Crafts (MINPMEESA), the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training (MINEFOP), the Ministry of Higher Education (MINESUP), the Ministry of Youth and Civic Education (MINJEC ), the Ministry of Decentralization and Local Development (MINDDEVEL), the Special Fund for Intercommunal Equipment and Intervention (FEICOM).

 

In order to facilitate the national implementation of the second phase of this program, funding from the Solidarity Fund for innovative projects, civil societies, Francophonie and human development (FSPI) was granted to the Route Chiefdoms. This funding will make it possible to consolidate the results and achievements of phase 1, then to promote the professional integration of more than 3,500 young people between 2023 and 2024, to encourage and support 1,000 young people to create businesses in the ICC sector. , to raise awareness and train decentralized local authorities in promoting the
tourist and cultural development of their territories.

To this end, young job-seeking graduates are selected and placed as volunteers for 12 months within cultural structures and decentralized local authorities (Communities, Regions) throughout the national territory. The distribution of these volunteers will be as follows:

90 volunteers placed in cultural structures;
60 volunteers placed within decentralized local authorities.

The admission requirements for this program are as follows:
Be an unemployed graduate;
Be of Cameroonian nationality;
Be of good moral character;
Be at least 18 (eighteen) years old and at most 35 (thirty-five) years old;
Enjoy all your civil rights;
Meet the conditions required for people carrying out activities of the same nature within the host structure;
Agree to carry out the volunteering mission anywhere in the national territory in accordance with the provisions of the volunteering contract.
