Missions and Responsibilities
General Objective The field agent is responsible for contributing to the proper implementation of food distribution and cash transfer activities to beneficiary communities under the supervision of supervisors. Responsibilities 1. Community Mobilization
– Ensure a good understanding of the various activities of INTERSOS and establish good relations with the beneficiaries and the various committees set up;
– Ensures the smooth running of the briefing of community volunteers and supervises their work;
– Explain to the community their role and participation in the project implementation strategy, their responsibility and respect for humanitarian principles;
– Relay questions and concerns raised by community stakeholders.
2. Supervision and follow-up In conjunction with the Site Supervisor, the field agent will:
– Organize pre-distribution meetings to ensure that all stakeholders are fully informed about the announced distribution operation;
– Ensure that the distribution site is secure and accessible to all beneficiaries and stakeholders;
– Receive the food in collaboration with the dedicated focal points according to the “less last mile” matrix;
– Ensure that distribution operations on the site comply with the SoPs in this area;
– Ensure that each beneficiary receives their assistance in the required quality and quantity;
– Ensure that complaints and remarks are taken into account and dealt with with the full support of the complaints management committee;
– Propose proposals for improving and optimizing the distribution process to his supervisor;
– Relay questions and concerns raised by community volunteers, beneficiaries and members of the various committees;
– Organize home visits to beneficiaries;
– Organize awareness-raising sessions with beneficiaries on good food practices; – Follow in connection with the field monitors the FFA activities if necessary.

3. Data Management
– Under the supervision of the MEAL Officer, assist in data collection, investigations and Job
Requirements
Education • University degree in social sciences, management, agronomy and/or rural development or any other related scientific field.
Experience ▪ Minimum of one year of experience in a humanitarian context, in an association, NGO or INGO, with at least 6 months of field work experience in the Far North region in a context of crisis.
▪ Proven professional experience of the In-Kind modality and cash transfer in a similar context would be an asset.
▪ Work experience and/or collaboration on a WFP project would be an asset.
Language ▪ Proficiency in formal written and oral French
▪ Good writing skills
▪ Mastery of a local vernacular language required (Fufuldé, Mafa, Mandara or Choa Arabic), mastery of several would be an asset
Knowledge
Skills /
Attitudes • Computers: Basic functional knowledge of:
– the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook),
– from common web browsers (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox)
to writing reports;
– Ensure the quality of the data collected and ensure that it is submitted in due time to the MEAL officer;
– Ensure that forms, lists and other paper evidence are properly completed, signed and archived, both physically and digitally.
4. Reporting
–
– Prepare and submit timely distribution reports, minutes of meetings, daily and weekly reports to the activity supervisor;
– Provide activity information as requested by the project manager or M&E team; – Help obtain good practices from beneficiaries;
– Collect quality images of the various activities and ensure that they are properly saved; – Check the consistency and quality of the information provided by the team of
community mobilizers, ensure that it is compiled and have it validated by the supervisors.
5. Accountability
– In collaboration with the accountability focal point, ensure that all accountability tools are implemented at all stages of the project and ensure their optimal functioning;
– Ensure through the keeping of a register, communication on the toll-free number or the complaint boxes, that the suggestions and opinions of the beneficiaries on the holding of activities are taken into account;
– Actively report cases of fraud or abuse, including cases of SEA found by teams or partners, in liaison with the PSEA focal point.
