Presentation of the company
The French Red Cross (CRf) and the Cameroonian Red Cross (CRC) are humanitarian associations, auxiliaries of the authorities public bodies, which provide help and assistance to vulnerable people.
Since 2010, the French Red Cross (CRf) has been present in Cameroon and intervenes in the areas of health, nutrition, food security and livelihoods (SAME) and risk and disaster reduction (DRR) in the Eastern and Far North regions.

Part of the Kousséri Health program team, more specifically the epidemic preparedness and response team.
Description of the position
I. Objective / Summary of the position.
Under the supervision of the Deputy Project Manager and in collaboration with all the health personnel of the Kousséri Health District, the Health Supervisor is responsible for implementing all prevention, management and monitor epidemic diseases at health facility and community level.
II. Location of the position
This position is open to people with the required profile and residing in Kousséri; it is therefore not subject to relocation. The candidate selected at the end of the recruitment process cannot therefore claim the status of relocated employee.
III. Responsibilities
1. Ensure the implementation and monitoring of PPP project activities within the framework of epidemic prevention and epidemic response at the level of health structures
• Contributes to the proper organization of activities included in the framework of the preparation and response to epidemics;
• Ensures the implementation of protocols and methodology for preparing for and responding to epidemics;
• Provides technical support to health personnel in the feedback of information necessary for epidemiological surveillance;
• Ensures proper management of PCI materials and equipment and PPE made available to CSIs;
• Assesses the needs of CSIs and community actors in connection with the project;
• Identifies the malfunctions and shortcomings of health personnel in the context of the implementation of prevention, response and epidemiological surveillance activities;
• Organizes supervision of activities at the level of the CSIs;
• Contributes to compliance with PCI standards at the CSI level;
• Assures needs assessments for PPE and PCI equipment;
• Ensures the implementation of a distribution plan for PPE and PCI equipment in the CSIs according to their needs;
• Ensures the management of PPE and PCI equipment by health personnel;
• Ensures compliance with hygiene and sanitation rules in CSIs and schools within the framework of epidemic prevention;

2. Collaborate with the health district team and the health personnel of the CSIs in the preparation and prevention of diseases with epidemic potential
• Ensures the proper execution of activities by the health personnel and volunteers in the field;
• Maintains good collaboration with the community mobilization supervisor;
• Contributes with the community mobilization agent to the supervision of volunteers (support in the development of schedules, respect of schedules, assignment of tasks, monitoring of activities and preparation of documentation for the payment of bonuses);
• Supervise activities at the level of the CSIs to build staff capacity in terms of compliance with standards in the prevention of epidemics and epidemiological surveillance;
• Ensures the continuous training of health personnel and volunteers in collaboration with the community mobilizing supervisor;
• Drafts all project activity reports related to epidemic preparedness and preparedness, zoonosis control and community-based surveillance;
3. Support coordination and representation activities related to epidemic preparedness and response
• Contributes to maintaining the image of the Red Cross in health areas;
• Contributes to the quality of relations with partners;
• Guarantees respect for the principles and values of the Red Cross in terms of partnership;
• Ensures the involvement of the district management team in the operation of health structures;
• Organizes and carries out, with the members of the ECD, PCI assessments of health structures and joint supervisions.
4. Participate in all stages of monitoring and evaluation to collect, analyze and write reports of epidemic preparedness and prevention activities
• Collect and analyze data relating to project activities;
• Contributes to the drafting of project activity reports;
• Participates in the development of project management tools;
• Contributes to the drafting of internal reports (monthly report) and external reports (intermediate and final reports)
Qualification and experience
Age / Gender: Not specified
Diploma / Level of study: State nursing diploma with a level of BAC + 3 in science Health, Masters in Public Health (Nutrition, International Public Health, Epidemiology), State Midwifery Diploma
Essential skills and experience:
• Have at least 3 years’ professional experience in the field of health and epidemiological surveillance;
• Demonstrate patience, pedagogy, diplomacy and have a strong ability to adapt;
• Have very good interpersonal skills (internal and external);
• Ability to work in a team;
• Have a good command of French (read, written and spoken).
Specific knowledge:
• Knowledge of the Red Cross / Red Crescent Movement through previous experience is a real advantage.
• Perfect command of the French language; knowledge of Fulfulde and Arabic is an asset.
